Town: Sandy Lane is a community of around 250 dwellings near Llanelli. Originally built as an area of holiday cottages for residents of Swansea at the start of the 20th century, many of the houses were winterised during the Second World War providing permanent homes for people who needed to escape from bombing. Now the area has an eclectic mix of timber frame chalets, some Scandinavian in style. Sandy Lane is very close to Parkmill, a small village scattered along the A4067 with a pub serving food and a cafe with shop serving most needs. Very close to the outstanding Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard golf course, and well located for exploring all of Gower, Swansea is just 8 miles away with its array of shops, a cinema, leisure facilities, theatre and the opportunity to see top flight football or rugby. Swansea offers a vibrant city centre with a choice of retail chain shops plus a great variety of local, individual shops too. With a leisure park, a theatre, a marina, superb eating places, a thriving night life and sandy beaches on the doorstep, it really is quite a unique city to visit. From busy shopping days and late nights out to relaxing walks on the beaches, you have it all here.
