About this house rental
Welcome to Family Tides! This stunning new home is perfectly located directly across the road from the beach and has a private pool and private dock with deep water bridgeless access! With hardwood floors throughout, this home has been decorated with a casual beach vibe that is very inviting.
The main floor has a bright and beautiful kitchen with a large island. There is a table that seats 6 and an island sitting area that seats 4.
The spacious living room with large screen TV has direct access to the west facing lanai with comfortable furniture and stunning sunset views!
The master bedroom (queen) with ensuite bath and 2 guest bedrooms (queen and twin bunk) with another guest bathroom are also located on the main floor.
On the second floor is another guest room (king) , a kids room ( 2 twin trundle beds) with old school video game. A full bath is also located on the 2nd floor..
A large porch with seating is located off the kitchen overlooking the salt water pool and dock. The private dock can accommodate larger boats. The lift is NOT available.
Have you vacationed on the island before? Palm Island a.k.a. Don Pedro Island, is a barrier island 7 miles long between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on the Gulf coast with sugar-sand beaches, beautiful harbors and lagoons, great fishing and shelling only accessible by a short 10 minute car ferry or private boat. Our beaches are some of the most pristine and quiet in all of coastal Florida. There are no high rises blocking your Gulf views, unpaved sandy roads, and a relaxed "Old Florida" atmosphere. There is one restaurant called the Rum Bay that serves lunch and dinner. The car ferry runs continually from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm from Sunday through Thursday and until 11:00 pm Friday and 12:00 midnight Saturday. You drive your car onto the ferry and then directly to your vacation rental home. It's a very special place to vacation.. All of our properties on Palm Island require a ferry ride to get there. One round trip on the ferry for car and passengers costs $55. The alternative is to purchase a book of 10 round trips for $400, or $40 per round trip. There IS a charge to heat the pool due to island cost/Pool Heat Fee is $100.00/week. Please let us know you'd like it heated when you book!
Pet Policy: This home is Pet Friendly home. This means that ONE dog is permitted to stay at the rental. No cats are permitted in any of our properties. Certain aggressive breeds as designated by the State of Florida and outlined in our rental contract are not permitted. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

This was our second trip to Palm Island. We traveled with our grandchildren and daughter. The house was perfect; kids were in the pool(heated salt water) every day and the walk to the beach couldn't have been better (right across the street!). The house is perfectly designed to meet the needs of a family on one side and grandparents on the other! The additional space downstairs is great for additional family or a quiet space to just relax and watch a movie. Palm Island is the perfect vacation if you're looking for quiet warm weather and beautiful sunsets.

We had a great week at this rental and Palm Island. It was our second time on the island and we enjoyed every bit. We rented a golf cart to tour around. Although we were right across from the beach. Beautiful sunsets from the front porch. We also rented kayaks to go thru the back water areas. Location was perfect- across the street from the beach, boat dock out back to fish off, walking distance to Rumbay and Coconuts. Pool was a great amenity as well as the ping pong table for our boys at night. Home was up to date, very clean and had everything you would need. We didn't need the first floor room for sleeping but this was great for using the bathroom. Nicely decorated, comfortable furniture and mattresses. Highly recommend this rental!

I cant say enough about our stay at Family Tides. The pictures do not give this property justice. It is such a great location with so much space! From the multiple screened in porches to the pool, outdoor shower area, fire pit and dock it is truly a beautiful space.
The home was very clean and has a great layout. It was especially nice to have a comfortable bed - the mattresses are so comfortable. Everything we needed to cook our meals was available. There is a nice selection of species and cookware basics - it was so convenient to have everything we needed. The home is very comfortable, AC works fantastic and the kids room is perfect and even has little built-in night lights.
The beach access is a very short walk and the beach was perfect - I think we only saw 3 other families the entire time we were there. Lots of wildlife sightings: many birds, iguana and several tortoise.
The property manager Jim is excellent!! So great to work with an accommodating. If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten path where you can truly disconnect - this is the place. We will definitely be back!!!

My friends and I do an annual fishing get together and loved the house.
Kitchen has everything you need and was very clean. All of the bedrooms were well put together and the living area was great to watch some college football.
Downstairs room was very nice and the fridge outside the door has an ice maker! Helped keep the coolers stocked.
The dock was very nice compared to other homes we have rented. Water and electric worked fine. Only suggestion would be to get a light or so out there.
We also enjoyed the pool and the path to the dock is very cool.
