Robins Retreat - Shepherds Hut Alfriston

The cabin is located in a beautifully quiet area and is spotlessly clean with everything you need for cooking. The bed is very comfortable, shower is huge and it's spacious for a shepherd's hut! It was nice to have two chairs to sit outside and parking was available. A really beautiful location and so easy to get into Alfriston as well as to access amazing walks right from the cabins. The sunrise from the hill just out of the bedroom window in the morning was incredible and the nature sounds all around are just perfect.

We were so disappointed when we found out the hot tub and even the fire pit were additional charges, especially for the cost of the cabin itself. We have stayed in many cabins and huts before and everything has always been included. I looked back over booking.com for when I originally booked and I really had to search for where it said "additional charge" as there are quite a few bits on booking.com that say "guests can enjoy a hot tub" etc - I definitely will be more diligent in checking things like this in the future but as I say we've never had that before and for the amount we paid it sadly left a sour taste and put a dampener on our experience there. We also had hoped for a little more privacy in the cabins too - not a problem really but just so anyone booking knows, the other two cabins are quite close by and as much as we weren't disturbed at all, it would have been a bit more relaxing to be more isolated.

Great location. Easy walking distance to local village restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and shops. Perfect base for walks with our dog. Robins retreat was warm, spacious, very clean and comfortable, it was peaceful, we slept well and had a lovely view of the hills and countryside. It was equipped with everything we needed including towels, robes, hairdryer, cooking and kitchen utensils, tea, coffee etc. Helpful, friendly hosts who advised on local places to eat and walking routes.

Nothing to dislike.
