Riviera House Montreux, un lieu magique !

A great property located on a hill top in a very quiet and secure neighbourhood. We checked in as a family of six. We were all very comfortable. Wonderful facilities with wonderful views and a four minute walk to the train station. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful. Their communication is excellent and they revert promptly. The barbecue facility by the balcony is very convenient and affords wonderful almost 360 degree views of the city.

This is the best appointed accommodation that I have ever rented and that is from many years of world travel. It is not cheap but for a very comfortable and well placed Villa it is worth the cost. The view over that lake from the veranda come dining room/ salon is fantastic. The kitchen has all you need. The beds are comfortable and the upstairs doubles beautifully furnished. There are so many rooms, including a lower fondu parlour, office, television room, that I didn't get round to using them though other members of my party did. The numerous bathrooms with baths and/or showers is great if you are a large group as mine was. The villa is wonderfully situated high up over Montreux but it easy to get down into town without using your car by taking the train from Chernex just a few minutes walk up from the villa. There is no real shopping area close to the villa , but there is a boulangerie and a little cafe/restaurant by the Chernex station and a restaurant and butcher a few minutes walk down the hill. You need to be fit to walk down and up the hill to Montreux as my brother's daughters did but they really enjoyed it. As the weather was mostly good we had a great time on the terrace using the barbeque and just lounging on the many sofas. To top it all, the two managers, Christophe and Nildo were vary helpful and reactive to our questions. Access to the property was arranged over WhatsApp , my party, coming from Australia, the UK, Switzerland and France we couldn't guarantee arrival at fixed time. It was very flexible. I would certainly come here again if I had a large group.

Nothing. Everything was functional. Does it need a swimming pool? No . There is the lake.
