Everyone is nice even if some of the staff doesn't speak English. They are kind and patient and will accommodate your needs. Very close to Bus Station. Access to full kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee machine and some pots, as well as Gas Stove. Excellent quality of pans. Kitchen has plates, cups, glasses, spoons, knives, forks, even plastic containers to store food, if staying for few days, Sink with cleaning supplies and drying basket. Hot water in bathroom available all the time for shower, good water pressure. Seems like every room has an area with hammock. In lounge, there are some books and even a hanging hammock chair which is very comfortable chair to sit and watch birds. I am vegetarian and also eat eggs. They were also able to give me fresh breakfast with eggs, juice, coffee, bread and fruit cup around 11 am, well past their normal breakfast time as I had gone birdwatching in the morning. They also let me check out at 2 pm.

We are budget travelers but still wanted a birding vacation that would be memorable. We are exceptionally happy that we chose Yellow House for our base camp and very much enjoyed the hiking trails and the number of species we saw right on the property. Eliana was an absolute gem and took such good care of us. She was always available to answer our questions. The property was just a few blocks from the bus terminal making it incredibly easy to access on foot as well as close to grocery stores if you want to cook your own meals. The kitchen had everything we needed and was perfectly tidy. We had a fantastic porch, comfy bed and hot showers. Also, we were able to pay by credit card upon arrival so didn't have to deal with local ATMs that sometimes run out of cash. All round great stay!!!

Amazing to have a property that is so close to town and to cloud forest trails where you can see hundreds of species. I booked initially for two nights and ended up staying five.

Accommodations were spartan, which is what was expected for the price. The rooms were spacious and clean.

Eine schöne ruhige naturnahe Einrichtung ganz nah am Zentrum von Mindo und doch total ruhig. Alles war perfekt und die Inhaber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich konnte sogar mein Auto für 2 Nächte auf dem Grundstück abstellen obwohl ich an einem anderen Ort übernachtet habe. Leider konnte ich wegen des schlechten Wetters die Trails nicht abgehen.
