ARISAN Bed and Breakfast

My stay at Arisan Bed & Breakfast was, without a doubt, one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. As a health professional, I came to Meghalaya after a long period of busy work, looking for nothing more than peace, comfort, and a change of pace. I initially planned to stay in Shillong for just a few days before moving to other parts of Meghalaya. However, after checking into Arisan, I completely changed my plans. The warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality I experienced here made me extend my trip by an entire week. A special thanks to Miss Mareen, the owner, who is an exceptional host. From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She arranged a reasonably priced pickup from Guwahati, recommended wonderful local attractions and restaurants, helped me experience authentic Khasi cuisine, and even treated me to a delicious traditional Khasi meal when I mentioned I hadn’t tried one yet. Her kindness and generosity made me feel less like a guest and more like family. And both staff deserve equal appreciation. They were respectful, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. Every morning Mareen would ask if I enjoyed the breakfast or if there was anything else I wanted. If I liked something, they happily served more. It is this attention to detail and genuine care that makes this place so special. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, and every essential amenity was available. Whether I needed tea, drinking water, meals, laundry service, or any other assistance, everything was provided promptly. They even have scooter available for rent, which made exploring Meghalaya incredibly convenient. The location is another major advantage. Situated in a peaceful area near the Shillong Cantonment, it offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere while still being only about 10 minutes from Police Bazaar.

Location was great and we liked the vibe the cleanliness and the staff behavior!

Nothing really it was great although we slightly had issue with parking space but it was well managed!!

Everything was just perfect! The staff, owner and the family with their cutiepie dogs they are so precious. They were helpful with everything from food to site seeing recommendations. Place is pristine clean and breakfast is amazing. It might look far from the city center but cab/scooter transportation is very easy and beautiful neighborhood that you can walk to places easily. Definitely want to come back!
