The LOFT

I really loved the convenient location, right around the corner from the train station where I took the train into NY and close to a well-lit and affordable parking garage where I could safely keep my car. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The shared spaces were clean and tidy. There were many restaurants in walking distance as well for meals and coffee!

I did not like the smell of smoke that was present throughout the building when I arrived. It was very strong in my room and I had to open the window for a few hours, after which it faded. I also would have liked two towels since I was staying two days and it would have been nice to shower both days, but I made it work.

Bed!!! Spacious bedroom and bathroom clean. Mirrors available and quiet neighborhood!!! Shower water pressure amazing! Hot water!!! Pots on stove! Kitchen stove working to cook my meal to break my fast (Ranadan fasting). I had the entire second floor to myself and it felt super good! Huge garbage bin!!! Walking closet big and convenient for my clothes and shoes!!! I never had a walking closet! Washer and Dryer on site!!! TV to watch free movies and YouTube access!!!!! (As an active YouTube content creator with over 15,000 subscribers this was so appreciated!!! Thank you)😊 🙏🏿😎❤️ I needed a break from the city and from my stressful work week and this was perfect!! Host was quick to communicate with me replying to my messages and he sounded happy to welcome me into his home. I felt at peace and safe enough. I came to Rahway to see if I could call this town home one day. People I interacted with were super friendly and very courteous. The area seems clean and friendly for any community and ethnicities. I am from Africa and didn’t get any issues with anyone who I met while on my walks and sightseeing.

Stairs too many for me lol…. Suffering from joint pain 🥲with rheumatoid arthritis and was not expecting so many stairs to climb. Staircases’rug was dirty and I couldn’t help but notice the awful smell of weed in the air as I entered the apartment building. As someone who has allergies to weed and cigarettes, this put me off when I got inside the building but since I had already paid…so to anyone planning to rent this apartment, make sure you are ok with the smell and the stairs as there is no elevator. Don’t have a super heavy suitcase! 😉
