About this cottage rental
What a haven this property is, tucked away and with some lovely internal features made by the owner. The hot tub garden is a real bonus too.. 1 step to entrance.

Hazels Cottage can be found in the popular village of Hayton just a few miles from the market town of Pocklington, midway between the ancient City of York and the stunning North Yorkshire coastline.
This beautifully converted barn is an ideal getaway for two looking a romantic break. Step inside into the open plan living area which is flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling glass that surrounds the barn door. The country style kitchen sits to one side and offers and electric oven and hob. The owner of Hazels Cottage has created many of the wooden features including the drop-down table that cleverly folds against the kitchen wall to maximise the space. A deep filled sofa offers the perfect spot from which to enjoy a relaxing evening in. A beautifully presented double bedroom awaits you when it’s time to retire; with a deep filled mattress and pretty soft furnishings you’re guaranteed a great night’s sleep and the en-suite shower room is a delight.
This pretty holiday home offers wrap around gardens; a private courtyard area that retains the original barn wall as a backdrop. Here you’ll find the private hot tub where you can relax in the bubbling water during the day or perhaps take a dip in the evening and watch the night sky. There is also a seating area to the side of the main entrance and a neatly trimmed lawn to the rear. Behind the property is a large orchard with additional seating that is shared with other properties on site. Feel free to pick the fruit during the autumn months or feed the chickens that roam the farm.
The local village shop is a two-minute walk away and the pub is just over the road. The popular market town of Pocklington is only a short drive away and offers a plethora of independent shops, tea rooms and a range of pubs and restaurants. Burnby Hall and Gardens is just up the road and is home to the National Collection of water lilies and the Pocklington canal is ideal for nature walks and bird watching. For cycling enthusiasts, the cycle track to Beverley is close by and the Yorkshire Wolds also offers miles of walking and cycling opportunities. If a day at the races takes your fancy, both York and Beverley offer an exciting day out.

This was our second visit to this lovely cottage. It is very quaint and cosy. The setting is very peaceful - lots of birds singing and rabbits in the field. There is a busy road next to the cottage but that didn’t detract from the feeling of tranquility. The hot tub is fabulous. It’s a great base to explore the local area. It’s so easy to get a bus into Pocklington which is a lovely market town with good shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a great holiday and will definitely come back in the future.

Had a 3 night stay and was absolutely lovely great surroundings brilliant well equipped, clean, cosy cottage, bed was super great nights sleep. Bus stop just outside for day in York, even a Chinese and pub across the road the hot tub was wonderful to relax in and looked really pretty with the lights on at night time. The only negative and it’s just personal preference really was the shower it is a rain shower and no handheld shower aswell but bought a shower cap so wasn’t a problem. All in all a fantastic stay even milk in the fridge teabags and choccy biscuits on arrival which was a lovely gesture. The little piglets came out to greet us ðŸ˜. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to family and friends. Thank you

Such a cute cottage, with everything you need. Bed is very soft, kitchen is well equipped. Hot tub is fabulous and very private. It's a lovely, tranquil location but just minutes away from 2 small market towns. I had a wonderful stay and I'm sure I'll book again.
