About this house rental
Casa De La Musa is one of only a handful of Caribbean homes situated directly on Punta Uva beach, one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. Featuring 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, screened porch and open patio area with many modern amenities including fiber op internet and AC in each bedroom.
It's rich history includes being the home of author Anacristina Rossi for nearly 15 years, where she wrote stories about the life and beauty of the Caribbean coast.
The space
We believe travelers looking for a true Caribbean beach and jungle experience will love spending their time in this charming, comfortable home.
Casa de la Musa is located directly on the spectacular beach of Punta Uva. It is a clean, Caribbean-style cottage with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, open patio with dining space, massage hut, and includes many modern amenities, including 25 mbps fiber optic internet and air-conditioned bedrooms.
Surrounded by lush natural gardens full of exotic plants and wildlife, Casa de la Musa is one of only a handful of houses directly on Punta Uva beach, the most swimmable beach in the Puerto Viejo area. The house sits 50 meters from the water line which is the closest Costa Rican homes can legally be to the ocean.

Outside Magazine and other travel publications have rated Punta Uva as one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.
The home has a clean indoor kitchen with large windows opening out towards the beach, garden, and patio areas.
The kitchen includes:
- Refrigerator/freezer
- Gas stove
- Appliances (coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, kettle)
- Dish-ware and utensils
Other Amenities include:
- Massage Service in the onsite massage hut
- Hot water (not standard in Caribbean homes) is available in the shower, and the sink
- Drinking water and a natural water filter are provided to guests.
- Linens, house towels and beach towels are included
- Security is a priority for us. Cameras monitor the outside areas of the property, and you will find a small safe for personal belongings
- A light cleaning and laundry service (1x load per week) is included for stays of 6 nights or more. Additional cleaning and laundry can be arranged for a fee.
- For guests staying less than 6 days, laundry service (washed,
dried and not folded) can be provided at $20 per load
(1 load = 5kg) and must be arranged with the host

Our friendly and experienced property manager (most likely Mike Geist - Owner) will help make your stay comfortable, safe, and fun. Please feel free to talk to your host about any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have about your visit.
Consider:
- Casa de la Musa is surrounded by jungle plants and wildlife. While we make a concerted effort to keep the house clean and comfortable, it may not be the right place for you if you hate bugs, and other critters.
- Regarding privacy: there are 2 separate houses on this property that are visible by guests from the main house. From time to time you may see the property owner during your stay. If you would like interaction, information, or just need to borrow misc items, it's just a few steps away for your convenience. Otherwise, expect every effort to be made for complete privacy.

You will have the whole house to enjoy as your own, however you will not have access to our laundry or storage rooms.
Other things to note
The stretch between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo is short and easy to visit from the central location of this property. There's no need to book multiple places in order to see each of the beautiful beaches and their communities.
Your hosts are available to help you with anything you need. Feel free to reach out when you have questions, want suggestions, or would like assistance to book transportation or tours.
As this property is a private vacation home, we will need you to pre-schedule your arrival time with us to ensure your host is onsite to let you in. Please remember our check-in times are between 3:00pm-9:00pm. We hold the right to refuse entry and/or charge a late entry fee of $50usd if you arrive after our check-in hours.

We loved the house! It was just by the beach, just a small stroll down to the waves. And the jungle was all abound with lots of wild animals and plats. The house architecture with sleeping rooms upstairs and kitchen and living room downstairs is very smart. We did all appreciate the AC even if we kept it on a high temperature it dried out the air a bit. Some of the details are a bit rough but that was all fine. The kitchen was well equipped for all kinds of cooking. We would definitely recommend anyone staying here!

Our stay was perfect. The host was communicative and the house was clean and cozy. Its location was super convenient to the beach with a private entrance. We would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location with solitude. Great wildlife surrounding and on the property. Close to everything you need, including a wonderful restaurant next door down the beach. Your own transportation is best to see the area.We thoroughly enjoyed this property and will most definitely will return.
