About this chalet rental

ED Refnr. 2241690

Discover a place with history and charm in the heart of Niederwald, Goms, Valais: a lovingly converted historic granary (Spycher) that once belonged to the estate of the birthplace of Caesar Ritz, the legendary founder of the Ritz Hotels. This pretty building is situated in a picturesque location next to the estate known as the "castle" and offers a unique insight into the traditional architecture of Valais.

Following careful modernisation in 2010, the interior of the Spycher is cosy and functional. The ground floor has a bedroom with a double bed, TV, shower and WC as well as an additional washbasin. The original eat-in kitchen on the upper floor is equipped with a red kitchenette with a ceramic hob, fridge and dishwasher. A sofa, a sideboard, a table, Internet/WLAN and a SONOS loudspeaker complete the room.

The outside area of the Spycher offers a relaxing retreat with its balcony, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over the whole village, and a small garden with deckchairs, garden chairs, a table and a large umbrella. It is the ideal place to unwind in the middle of the Niederwald countryside.

The surroundings of Niederwald, situated at an altitude of 1251 metres, enchant with their traditional character and the unspoilt nature of the Goms region in Upper Valais. The compact houses nestled on a hillside and the picturesque landscape invite you to enjoy a variety of activities, be it hiking, tennis, golf, mountain biking in summer or cross-country skiing and downhill skiing in winter. Niederwald, the home village of Caesar Ritz and the famous portrait painter Justin Lorenz Ritz, is close to the "Station Ritz" with bistro, shop for local specialities and a museum.

Immerse yourself in the history of this unique place, which is characterised by its special location in the north-eastern, traffic-free part of Niederwald and its rich cultural heritage. The Spycher, ideal for two people who want to enjoy togetherness in a historic yet modern ambience, awaits you for an unforgettable stay. With public transport and parking facilities in the immediate vicinity and the permitted exception for small to medium-sized, well-behaved dogs, this place offers everything you need for a relaxing break.
