I traveled with a group of 6 women for a hiking retreat and boy did we luck out with this beautiful home! Tons of room that each of us had our own room with a few rooms to spare! Beds were comfortable and the home was extremely clean. The kitchen was well stocked - everything from coffee to spices to zip loc bags! The hosts thought of everything we may need to cook and enjoy ourselves in the kitchen. Wood for stoves and fireplaces was provided as well as portable heating units. Amazing assortment of extra bedding and towels were also available and we even had access to the washer and dryer. The front porch provided an amazing view of the water and was a special gathering place for us to talk and just relax! We enjoyed going down the 'secret hall' and into a completely different wing of the house - absolutely amazing and would have been a big hit for our kids! The location was perfect - close to tons of trailheads and the Thuya gardens. We could walk out the front door and be off to an adventure without even driving anywhere. I can't possibly do justice to how amazing this location and setting were! The hosts were immediately communicative and the guest book was chock full of 58 pages of information from nuances of the house to recommended adventures, food, and entertainment. It was the nicest and most thoughtful book for guests that I have ever seen! We all felt very lucky to be able to stay here and would love the opportunity to come back soon! Thank you!

Random Ridge is a special home. The history and family feeling throughout is clearly what makes this house a perfect place for a family reunion. The views of the ocean and marina are unbelievably beautiful. We enjoyed the proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor. You can hike the nearby trails with spectacular scenery to Jordan Pond. The house is clean and well stocked for meal preparation. We were concerned about not having AC during a summer stay but even on hot days the house stayed cool with a few windows open and we never felt the need to have AC during our stay. Spending time on the deck that overlooked the marina was a highlight of our stay. I would definitely recommend this house if you’re looking for something different from the normal vacation rental property.

This house is truly magic. From our first drive up the tree lined path to Random Ridge we felt like we were driving into a fairytale. The house was clean and welcoming. Having been in the same family for over 75 years, it immediately felt like home. The house was expansive and optimistic, it was a sheer joy for our kids and extended family & friends. Each room has a beautiful view and the secret rooms and doors leading to other rooms made it so fun to explore. The proximity to beautiful gardens and incredible day hikes at Acadia National Park were amazing. After some long day hikes, is was so nice to come back to this beautiful house to relax and hang out in the family room and catch the last light on the wraparound porch after dinner. We are already planning our next trip back to Random Ridge!
