I absolutely loved my stay at Trippy Turtle. I originally planned to stay for just one night, but ended up staying for four because the atmosphere was so welcoming and enjoyable. The owner and staff are amazing, the hostel is very clean, and the vibe is friendly, relaxed, and full of positive energy. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home and never want to leave. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay! 😊

I stayed at this hostel recently, and while it has some positives, I wouldn’t recommend it for most travelers because of several major inconveniences. The biggest issue is the location. The hostel is around 23 km from the city center, and there is almost no public transportation available. The only practical option is a tuk-tuk, which usually charges ₹800–₹1,200 for a one-way trip. If you want to explore the city or nearby attractions, transportation becomes very expensive. Another downside is the food situation. Apart from the hostel’s own food court, there are no nearby restaurants or cafes for around 8–10 km. On top of that, outside food is not allowed, so you’re forced to eat at the hostel. Even a simple coffee costs around ₹90, which gives you an idea of how expensive the food can be. Internet connectivity is also disappointing. Mobile data doesn’t work well here, and 5G is practically unusable, so you’re dependent on the hostel’s Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is decent around the food court and common areas, but inside the rooms the signal is very weak and often doesn’t work properly. If you’re planning to rent a scooter or bike to explore the area, keep in mind that there are no rental options nearby. You’ll first have to travel back to the city center (again paying ₹800–₹1,200), and only then can you rent a vehicle. One thing that really disappointed me was the “no extension” policy. This didn’t happen only to me—I saw the same issue with two or three other guests on the same day. Even if you’re already staying at the hostel and want to extend your stay, they don’t allow you to do it directly at reception. Instead, they ask you to go online and make a new booking. It doesn’t make much sense when you’re already at the property and could simply extend your stay offline. Laundry is another inconvenience. Like many hostels, washing clothes in the bathroom isn’t allowed, which is understandable. However, most hostels provide either a washing machine or a paid laundry service. Here, neither option is available. If you need to do laundry, you’ll have to travel all the way back to the city center, which is about 22–23 km away. Finally, my first impression was mixed. At check-in, the staff member welcomed me warmly, but immediately afterward I received a long lecture about all the rules—what I could do, what I couldn’t do, and how everything should be followed. It honestly felt more like being in school than checking into a hostel. What I liked * Great traveler vibe and easy to meet people. * Friendly atmosphere where it’s easy to make new friends. * Everyone gets enough personal space despite the social environment. * I was given an early check-in, which I really appreciated. * The service staff were polite and helpful. * The hostel campus is beautiful, with a well-maintained common area, games area, and overall good facilities. Overall: The hostel has a great social atmosphere and a nice campus, but the remote location, expensive transportation, limited food options, weak internet in the rooms, lack of laundry facilities, and inflexible policies made the experience inconvenient. If you don’t mind staying far from the city and mostly plan to remain at the hostel, you may enjoy it. Otherwise, I’d suggest looking for a hostel closer to the city center.
