Seaview Rooftop Retreat Monte Clérigo

We had a mixed experience with this accommodation. The house itself is very beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, exactly as shown in the photos. Everything was hygienic, and there were plenty of towels provided. However, there were several issues that affected our stay. The listing did not mention that another person permanently lives on the property. The subtenant lives on the ground floor at garden level and regularly used the middle terrace and the garden, for example to do yoga. Since her living area opens directly onto the garden and her large glass door was often open, we never really felt like we could use the outdoor areas in peace. This was disappointing, as the terraces and garden were one of the main reasons we booked this place. In addition, the table on the middle terrace wasn’t set up and had to be assembled by ourselves. On the first day, we informed the host that the umbrella stand was broken. She said she would bring a new one but never followed up. Because of this, the rooftop terrace was basically unusable throughout our stay, as it was far too hot there during the day without any shade. This was especially disappointing because the rooftop terrace was one of the main reasons we chose this accommodation. The kitchen equipment was also very limited: for three people, there were only four forks, four spoons, four knives, and four large plates, which was quite inconvenient. There were also no large pots, which made even cooking something simple like pasta difficult. Additionally, basic items such as extra kitchen utensils, shower gel, shampoo, or trash bags were missing – things we are used to having in other accommodations within the same price range. Overall, the house itself is very beautiful inside, but we would not have booked it had we known that the outdoor areas were shared and that some essential items would be missing. Unfortunately, for us, the price-performance ratio just wasn’t ideal.

Ein wunderbares Haus, welches geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist. Die Betten sind super bequem und alles war sauber. Der Blick von der Dachterrasse ist traumhaft. Marcia hat sich toll gekümmert und die Yogalehrerin im Haus war super!

Nur die Straße hat uns ein wenig beim Schlafen gestört.
