Burnley House-Room B

The room was exactly as advertised. I never read reviews about property but after a disppointment with a Booking whereby I could not go into a property I had booked for the weekend due to not having entry access code, I decided to listen to what others have to say. One review I read was about 'sharing'. I usually do not like to have to share any amenities in the property I book but I looked closely at the photo images and with the knowledge or belief of 'what you see is what you get' I thought I'd go for 'shared bathroom' this time (though much more expensive than any other booking). The washrooms (Shower and bathroom) are well done. I enjoyed the lovely Shower but the temperture control needs service attention. The service appliances worked well but the Tumble Dryer which was the real point that won the Booking takes a long while to dry the clothes. I did get to wash and dry the bedsheets for the 4th night of my stay and slept like a baby :-) after I turned the mattress over and swept the room.

I should not speak ill of the Host but in the same review I read (if not different) someone showed photo images of a pest - a bug of some sort (not a bed bug). When I first went into the room I saw a spider come out as if to see who is this coming in, then run back into the little crack in the wall which is obviously his home or his part of the room and only who knows for how long. He didn't look too bothered neither did I, nor did I see it come out again. The wall is decorated with wood work, so is the bedstead and small dining set. I did expect something like that (a tiny wood insect) though I must say the accuracy of both the foretelling, and the sight of the insect was a bit shocking. The floor could've done with sweeping but was clean (not dirty). The room on the first and second night went from boiling hot to hot, very warm and to very stuffy. There is suggestion of a remote control on the wall for a fan but there was no fan in sight in the room. The heater was portable. Disappointingly, there were stains and hairs on the bed - the mattress. When I slept on the first night I thought someone who even though had just had a bath, had slept in the bed, and the bedding not changed. When I turned the mattress over after washing the sheets on the 4th night, the other side has a lovely grey smooth material that looks like animal hair. The hairs found on the bed are human hairs. I did not like the fact there was no fridge in the room. I believe I had to adapt. The fridge was outside of the room, and at a good temperature. The kitchen cabinet was filthy. The Host must be a gentleman but must get a professional cleaning service for the kitchen.

A 2 pas du métro, chambre B très confortable. La douche n était pas très propre et un tapis aurait été bien! Je regrette seulement le bruit des mes voisines de chambre
