It was good place for a short stay while we were visiting friends in the area.

We had a meal in the Indian restaurant below, which was very nice. The staff there were friendly and nice, which added to the experience.

The facilities were a bit basic, but we were fine with that - a good price for a comfortable place to stop, and a very kind and friendly host.

Valentines night away

Owner was very helpful and the property was lovely and warm on a cold day and night Comfortable bed with plenty of hot water and a kitchen with everything we needed. Used the indian restaurant downstairs which belonged to the owner and the food was extremely good and staff very hospital.

Very enjoyable stay

Spacious property with comfortable bed. I found it had everything I needed for my stay and the host was excellent checking in once I had arrived to make sure I was happy and making sure the heating was on for when I got there. I found the property to be clean and we’ll equipped. I think for the money I paid £73 it was well worth it. The property is in a good location close to Wakefield town centre and easy access to the motorway network.

The property is described as luxurious which it isn’t and is a bit miss leading. The plug hole was missing from the bath and the seal is missing on the shower screen so water leaks on the floor. There is damage to cupboards and missing drawers. This is an old pub repurposed as an Indian restaurant and these are the old landlords living quarters above. The fixtures and fittings require attention as there’s tv cables in the walls with no tvs and broken blinds. The access is up some steps to the side of the property but the access to the old pub still remains which is locked but has a window which is a bit of putting I would block this window off.

Very spacious, clean, had everything we needed, host was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

Outside entery steps were a little daunting, and slightly more so for disabled family members, but still managed.

Didn't stay

This property is not luxurious as described. Property maintenance issues, holes in walls, cupboard doors missing, wires hanging out of walls, little cutlery, bad smell, cigarette butts in water bucket outside door, bed linen not ironed and grubby, personal belongings left in draw. Didn't meet a standard expectation of a let, although landlord was friendly, massive improvements are needed to make it acceptable. We didn't stay the 2 nights booked.

Parking was easy

Very hot being above the kitchen of an Indian takeaway. Very poor ventilation, and couldn’t open windows due to noise from people out the front of the restaurant and a train at the back. Overall smell of curried food. Blinds falling off windows. Drawer fronts missing. Wardrobes falling apart. Big holes in walls and wires hanging out. Not enough pillows, cutlery etc. Random door leading somewhere with piles of dirty laundry on the other side. Cheap and cheerful but not for more than one night and not really ready for paying guests. A bit like it’s on the market to sell and they’re trying to get a few quid in in the meantime.
