Villa Minerva Eco - Farm Resort near Vigan

Staff was super friendly and the venue and the ground were clean and well maintained.

If you want to just destress away from the bustling city, this is a good place for you. Their plated longganisa is good. The room is clean and homey. The entire place is peaceful.

Kudos to Ate and the other staff of Minerva Villa. IF you want to have some quiet, which is also near Vigan and other places to visit, it's best to stay here. The plated breakfast was also good and worth it.

We would like to start by saying that the staff were nice but not well-trained. Actually, the resort itself is not trained on Hospitality and Hotel/Resort Management. The first experience we encountered was the AC in our room. We visited the place during the summer so it was a dealbreaker for us. Upon checking in at 2pm, we opened the AC and until 4pm, we noticed that it did not make our room any colder and realized the purpose of the electric fan placed in our room (we booked 2 rooms, the other room had a good AC and no fan was placed in their room). We notified the staff about the AC problem and told us that it was just normal because the exhaust fan of our AC was facing the sun. So, we waited until 6pm. We informed them again and told us repeatedly that it was just normal. We requested to be moved to another room and they told us that they could only transfer us to the honeymoon suite good for 2 people and the other person would be sleeping on an airbag bed (we originally booked a deluxe room for 3 people- 1 double bed and 1 single bed). We tried to consider it but upon checking the honeymoon suite, it was way smaller than our original room. So, we waited until 8pm hoping that our AC would function normally. 8pm, the AC didn't do its job. So, we informed the staff and told us again that they could only transfer us to a honeymoon suite because other guests may "book". I was so disappointed because there were other rooms available since we were only the guests during our stay. I was hoping for a self-intiated upgrade from the management considering that this was the practice by hotels/resorts when guests experience even a minor inconvenience specially when there are other rooms available (there were rooms available for 4 to 6persons and no one was using them!!! at 9pm). So, to avoid stress we just requested for an additional electric fan but they refused saying that there are no other electric fan available. I suggested if we could just use that fan at the reception area since reception would be closed at 10pm and replied that bawal daw. It is not allowed!!! Omg! But we let it pass not wanting to ruin our vacation. 2nd, no electic kettle was available in all the rooms. We felt like we're staying in a transient house with just a better amenities but a shitty service. 3rd, while checking out, the receptionist cautioned us (not in a hospital way) to stop slamming the main door. It made us confused because we were just opening the door normally (may pintuan din kami sa bahay). The problem was, the main door does not have a stopper attached on it. It was their negligence, not the guests. 4th, they conducted a routinary room check before we were cleared for a check out. And they informed us that one towel was missing. We checked our bags and rechecked the room and found out that the supposed to be missing towel was just misplaced in the other room. Mind you, the staff didn't even bother to help us look for the towel even though it was their job- they should expect that other towels may had been misplaced to other rooms since we booked 2 rooms. 5th, they chose to be short staffed during our stay. We, stayed from Sunday to Monday and only one staff was available on Monday- the receptionist. We fetch our own water etc. My god! Worst hotel experience considering the price. Not a value for money. P.S. the Manager (sister of the owner) is rude. She made us feel na para bang hindi kami nagAC sa bahay by emphasizing na kaya mainit kasi dahil sa exhaust. We are not stupid. May mga ACs din namin kami sa bahay na tinatamaan ng araw.
