Menadue Cottage, Trenale Lane, Tintagel, Cornwall

Secluded location within easy reach of fabulous beaches. Lovely, cosy, well equipped cottage with spectacular views.

The WiFI was down during our entire stay but this was due to the service provider

Menadue was as the pictures. Really very clean and tidy, tastefully decorated. The bed was great and the bedding lovely. It was well equipped and the sunsets were amazing. Nice rural setting, not too far from anywhere once you got used to the road. Need a car though. A few garden chairs be nice!

On arrival we were greeted by a woman, who hoped we didnt mind but 30 teenagers and 5 teachers were about to arrive for 5 days! Although I knew there was an activity centre nearby I didnt realise how nearby! They slept in the cottage next door and passed the bottom of the garden to eat and play in the barn the other side of the garden, so we were between. They were pretty well behaved as it turned out, but we took each day as it came and only really moaned at them once. However we weren't expecting them and so the break wasn't the quiet few days we were hoping for. I'd love to come back but not when a group is staying. BTW we are both retired youth workers so our tolerance is high!

We did really enjoy our stay, despite some very small issues we had that have been sorted by the host very quickly so they aren't even worth mentioning. The location is great, you have an amazing view on Tintagel. The cottage inside is nice, very old building, I don't think we have ever stayed in such an old build. Kitchen is well equipped, you have literally everything you need to cook your own food. The bathroom is nice and spacious, there weren't any shampoo/conditioner/showel gel, but again, for me it's not a problem because I always bring my own stuff and I am one of those people who think that when you rent out a flat/cottage it is not mandatory for the host to provide. There is a nice space in front of the cottage where you can have a picnic, or barbecue, or just a coffee in the morning enjoying the view! Amazing! Lovely living room, tv has all the entertainment you need. Water was always hot, we did not encounter any problems with it. The check in process nice and easy, you get the code for the key locker and that's it.

There are 3 things that might be a deal breaker for somebody. The road to the cottage isn't the greatest, no asphalt just gravel and sand/soil/grass. My car struggled once during rain on the way to the cottage. I went with my elderly parents and because the bedrooms are upstairs they had to go up and down quite often which isn't ideal for people who have mobility issues. The bunk beds are quite squeaky and every time you turn you can hear it making sounds, for somebody who is a light sleeper it could be a problem. Despite of this we still enjoyed our stay.

The cottage had all the amenities you would need, it was lovely and clean and welcoming. The views were incredible. We absolutely loved our stay.
