    From the moment I made my booking until the day I left, the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They arranged my driver and pickup from the train station, and even personally met me at the pickup point and carried my luggage back to the hotel. Cars cannot enter the Ancient City, so it is a short walk from where vehicles can drop you off, and having someone meet you and help with your bags was such a thoughtful touch. The property itself is absolutely magical, mystical and beautiful. The decor is incredibly well thought out and feels genuinely authentic to the history and character of the area. There are little sitting areas throughout the courtyard that give the whole place a very relaxed, homey and peaceful atmosphere. The location is perfect. It is right near the top of the street by one of the gates to the Old Town. Despite being so close to everything, the hotel is tucked behind the first row of buildings, so at night it is wonderfully quiet. Step outside and walk about 20 metres, and suddenly you are right in the middle of the energy of Dali, with amazing food, charming little alleys and endless things to discover and explore. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and coffee and fresh Chinese tea leaves were provided. The hot water does take a little while to reach the room, which initially made me think there was no hot water on my first day, but you quickly realize it simply takes some time to travel through this beautifully restored old building. The staff were also very easy to communicate with. They could translate into English when needed and were always happy to answer questions or help with anything I needed. They greeted me warmly whenever I arrived or left, which made the whole stay feel very personal. This is not a modern, cookie-cutter hotel, and that is exactly what makes it special. It feels like you are staying somewhere with history, character and soul. Quiet and peaceful inside, yet right in the middle of everything outside. I absolutely loved my stay and would happily stay here again.

    The hotel was located centrally in the ancient city. The room was clean (the sunroof was very cool) and the decor and courtyard were beautiful. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend!

    This hotel is perfectly located in the center of Dali Ancient City. We were given room with a bathtub and projector—which is good for watching movies on the big screen at night! The smart toilet seat was a nice touch too. The self-service laundry was a lifesaver for our family trip. The courtyard is charming and quiet despite being in a busy area. Service was attentive—hotel contacted us via wechat prior to arrival for pickup and dropoff service at the dali train station, they also helped with our luggages and even gave us some tea and local rose pastries. Location is at prime, there are many food options within walking distance. Overall, great value and highly recommended!

    The hotel is very well located in downtown Dali. Cannot be accessed by car so be mindful of this. However is it more managed like a poor guesthouse than a hotel. The room has not been cleaned during our two nights stay…
