If you get a room in the new wing of the property, it’s really good. If you get stuck in the old wing, the rooms are definitely old and outdated. Not to mention it’s a weird trek across the whole property just to go to the old wing, since there is no entrance there anymore. If you need a place to stay for a couple nights it’s fine. If you’re looking for a more upscale place, this isn’t it. Also; we booked for 2 adults and 1 child. Breakfast included. When we checked in, they said “it’s 400 pesos for your child’s breakfast per day if you choose.” I showed her the booked that clearly says “breakfast included” and she said “that’s just for the room, the two adults and 1 child, not breakfast.” So be aware.

I really wanted to like Coron Westown Resort because the property itself is nice, especially the renovated rooms, but unfortunately the customer service and overall guest experience fell well below expectations. Our stay started off poorly when the airport shuttle arrived late. By the time it got there, everyone else from our flight had already left. Another passenger even commented that the shuttle should have been waiting for arriving guests instead of making us wait. I specifically booked the Premier Family Suite because I knew those rooms had been renovated. The room itself was comfortable and updated, but when we arrived, we discovered that the second bedroom was still locked because staff had forgotten to unlock it before our check-in. We had to call the front desk to have someone come open it. Check-in was frustrating. The receptionist initially tried to charge me ₱1,200 for the airport shuttle (₱300 x 4 people). After I asked her to double-check what had already been processed, she realized I only owed ₱900. At checkout, we were actually charged ₱1,150 because the child rate was slightly lower. She also photocopied my passport during check-in and completely forgot to return it until I reminded her. There was another check-in mistake when the receptionist attempted to charge us for breakfast even though it was already included in my Agoda reservation. She only corrected it after reviewing my booking confirmation. For a Premier Family Suite that accommodates up to six guests, the hotel only provides two room key cards, which was very inconvenient for our family. One policy I found disappointing was the towel deposit. Guests are charged ₱100 per towel if they want to take pool towels outside the property, even if they simply want to use them during island activities. This felt like unnecessary nickel-and-diming and was the first resort I’ve experienced with this policy. We ate at both restaurants. At La Meza, the staff never offered us drinking water—we had to ask for it ourselves. The food was generally good, but many menu items were unavailable. The squid had good flavor but was overcooked and very rubbery. Our experience at Shark Bar was worse. The pizza arrived with an undercooked, doughy crust, and the cheese tasted unusual and wasn’t enjoyable. On the positive side, they had a live singer one evening who was excellent and created a nice atmosphere. The Wi-Fi system is outdated. Instead of simply connecting to the network, guests receive paper vouchers that expire after a certain number of hours. We had to return to the front desk five different times because several vouchers they gave us didn’t work. The electricity also went out repeatedly throughout one day—around ten separate outages. Each lasted about a minute, but it was still disruptive as the room would go completely dark before power returned. Mobile reception was also weak. We had almost no usable 5G signal during our stay, so you’ll likely depend on the hotel’s Wi-Fi. There were also quite a few mosquitoes around the property and many flies in the breakfast buffet area, making meals less enjoyable. The resort has an entertainment room with games, but no one tells guests it exists. We only found it by walking around the property. After asking if we could use it, staff turned on the lights and air conditioning. One employee who deserves recognition was the gentleman who helped hail tricycles. He was consistently friendly and helpful. Checkout was also frustrating because we had to call multiple times before someone came to help with our luggage. I also noticed that the hotel is renovating more rooms, which is great. However, management should invest just as much in staff training. Most employees seemed inexperienced and lacked basic customer service skills. Before our stay, I emailed the hotel with several questions and received little to no response. During check-in, I asked if I could speak with the hotel manager but was told no manager was
