Riverview, studio style room near station R3

We particularly liked the quiet suburban location, next to a small stream and park. It was a short walk to some shops and a great pub and 39 min walk to Wimbledon shops. The apartment had a fridge, kettle and toaster in the room and a small seating area. A communal kitchen was downstairs. Two washing machines and a dryer were also available free of charge. The room had large opening doors/windows which allowed good ventilation.

The room was a little cramped. The bathroom was functional but also very small. An outside sitting area in the backyard was a good space during a hot summer but it needed tidying up and weeding.

The shower plug hole didn’t drain properly and when I lifted up the plug it was very black underneath

The location was good for our stay, and the local pub (Holden’s) was excellent. Our room itself was nice and clean.

Disgusting entry with piles of rubbish and old recycling strewn about outside the door. The kitchen and foyer smelt pretty bad. The room we had (no. 3) did not have a lockable door to outside (it functions as a window, as it has a waist high balcony style fence): it’s on the first floor with easy access for any thieves who can climb onto the adjacent fences). The shower needed to be run at a trickle to prevent it overflowing as the drain is partially blocked. The toilet seat is not secured. The back yard (overlooked by room 3) is inaccessible and grossly overgrown with serious weeds and junk. This was our last accommodation on a 5 week trip to London and France, and the only one that we did not feel was excellent, or at least adequate.
