Casa Spiladia

This is a wonderful house in a very quiet location and beautiful sea views. The house has almost all amenities for a pleasant stay--AC, full size fridge, oven, kettle, toaster, mini grill, crockery and basic cutlery, a few basic kitchen utensils.. In the bathroom there is a washing machine and a hair dryer. There is also an iron and an ironing board. There are nets on the windows against mosquitoes, and the owner left liquid mosquito repellents that can be plugged in. The house was also stacked with complementary goodies upon our arrival, which we deeply appreciated.

Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working, and definitely needs to be replaced, so that was a bummer. A cheap drip coffee machine would be great. Also, we stayed there as 5 people, and the futon downstairs is definitely not for two adults-- maybe an adult and a child, and even that might get uncomfortable. For the people sleeping upstairs it is warm even at night despite the AC. But we come from a hot city, so it did not bother us, and frankly it is quite tolerable. Also, I suggest the owner to give explicit street names for navigation. For the first three days Google maps made us use an extremely narrow corkscrew road which can be very problematic for large cars or inexperienced drivers. We discovered a safer road to use later--but the Google maps still continued to ignore that road, so we had to rely on our experience. Also, the place is wonderfully quiet, relaxing and beautiful, but for a solo traveler it might feel a bit secluded. Are any of these points dealbreakers? Absolutely not! My kids loved the house and the quaint little church nearby. But taking care of details would be even better for a truly unforgettable stay.
