Modern 1br Apt, Up to 4 people, Steps to 17th Ave, Downtown & Stampede

The suite has been updated and is very comfortable. The bed & pillows are extremely comfortable and the street is very quiet for sleeping. There is no air-conditioning but the fan provided worked well during the night. The Keurig coffee provided was a nice touch. Good Earth Coffeehouse is a couple blocks away and has wonderful breakfast options. We really appreciated having access to Netflix, etc -- was a super way to chill out after grabbing dinner on 17th. Downtown is walkable and Ubers are plentiful.

The Building (entrance, halls and elevator) is very tired -- real shame!

What we liked best was the neighborhood and its handy location near the restaurants of 17th Ave. and a supermarket. The unit was clean and nicely furnished. Comfy bed and good shower. It would be ideal for a couple; we were a couple with college-aged grandchildren. For us, it was "cozy," as advertised. The entry code didn't work for us when we arrived, but we were able to phone one of the owners, who created a new code. After that, smooth sailing.

Our only quibbles were minor. The listing advertised free on-street parking; however, a sign out front limits parking on that side of the street to 2 hours between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. The other side of the street has no restrictions, though. There is free parking in a designated spot in the alley behind the building. It would be helpful if the listing explained that to reach the alley, you should drive to the end of the block and up the hill. We tried to reach it by going directly behind the building through a narrow entrance. A staircase connects the designated parking and the lot behind the building. Better to unload luggage in front of the building and then park in the alley.

Location was even better than we expected (with some amazing brunch places right round the corner), the bed was so big and comfortable. Very clean apartment and well equipped.

The hosts offer a one way shuttle, I would recommend booking it in early or it is not possible (as was the case for us). Aircon wouldve made it a 10/10. The neighbours were quite loudly coughing all day/night which was a bit grim and the smell of smoke in the hallway wasnt great but obviously not the host's fault and the apartment itself smelt great.

Good location, very comfy bed, fairly well stocked kitchen, good layout. We stayed there for 1 week and it was nice to have a dresser to store our clothes and storage space for luggage.

Some of the furniture is worn out, particularly the couch, which made it not functional as a 2nd bed, but it was fine as a couch. The biggest problem we had with the place was the building reeked of cigarette smoke at all times and because the unit was not air tight, the smoke leaked into the unit through vents etc. Not the fault of the host but I wish it were made known to us at the time of booking because we would definitely have made a different accommodation choice. There were scented products used probably to mask the smoke smell but I’m sensitive to artificial fragrances so that was not a solution for me. It is a shame that apartment buildings still allow indoor smoking.
