Old Bookshop - Unique house in central St Ives with outdoor space

Great position, close to harbour, bars, places to eat, etc

Parking is a nightmare and/or very expensive.

Property had a unique key code to get in, nice and easy and no keys to lose. Nice space inside and out and very central. Good spec inside property and nice to have a welcome pack very nice :)

Personal choice would have been a sofa instead of 2 chairs in lounge. Still lovely though.

Excellent location, quaint property with everything you needed. Nice touches like bottle of wine on arrival.

The outside space was wonderful to have, the groceries and the wine were a lovely touch. More effort could be made with the book theme but it was okay. The outside of the property was beautiful and the location was central.

The communication prior and during my stay was absolutely terrible, transactional and even argumentative as a solo female traveler. The host said they would get back to me, they didn’t bother two and a half days later. The bed had no duvet, just a bedspread, it was cold one night the bed had also clearly not been changed and was febreezed to the point of eye watering (genuinely) levels. The lights were hard to work out, the locking system not user friendly, the welcome email arrived at 10pm and the cleaners came a day early. The property details of how to get in were sent at 9pm the night before my travel and there was no explanation about how the door worked (it’s time locked people) the back door was like Fort Knox making it look and feel unsafe. Other people who have stayed there have fed back about instructions for things and it’s been ignored. You have to shut the shutters as people passing gawp in and also think it’s a shop so it’s not very quiet. The decor of the lounge was very whetherspoons pub and it was dark inside.
