The location was great. It was spotless and comfy beds.
The shower was weak and hot water ran out very quickly. It was also cold in the house as the heating can’t really manage with the size of the rooms. There is a horrible and dirty mannequin in one of the rooms which was a bit off putting!

The location is perfect - everything in Valletta in easy reach, and the views from the rooftop and balconies are fantastic. The property is beautiful and spacious, and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe and storage space. The two bathrooms are great with excellent showers, and there are plenty of additional toilets throughout the house. There are lots of different communal areas to choose from of various sizes (note that only the dining room can accommodate a full house of guests), including the rooftop space. It was useful to have 2 well-equipped kitchens - one on the ground floor and one on the top floor - as well as a laundry room. It was great to have a lift in the house too, as there are several floors, and the dining room is on a different floor to the kitchens. Apart from one significant issue, the hosts (a management agency) were very friendly and helpful.
There was an issue with a key that broke in the front door late on the first night that was initially very badly handled. We were eventually able to get in after 2.5 hours, mostly in the cold, and several long phone calls. Handled better, we would probably have been indoors within half an hour and a lot less stress. Subsequent communications with the management agency were much more helpful, including resolving a query with a payment, getting an engineer out speedily to resolve a hot tub issue, and arranging for a later checkout. There was also some confusion just after booking the holiday, when the managing agency sent an external link to click on, where I had to upload credit card details and photo ID in advance, in order to get the door code (which would then only available 2 hours before arriving). It looked like a scam, even the booking.com agent I spoke to thought it was a scam - but investigated further and it was actually legit. Seeing as booking.com actively advises people not to click on external links or send any further payment details to anyone, it would be great if this was somehow streamlined.

This is a beautiful old house, with a grand stone and marble staircase from the entrance hall to the 2nd floor, high ceilings, sensitively restored and modernised. The main house was furnished throughout with comfortable furniture and antiques, while the large flat above was modern, with its own bathroom and kitchen and could be completely self contained. It certainly felt as if we were staying in a palace! An absolutely incredible place, as if we had a boutique hotel all to ourselves. It was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped with good quality goods, and plenty of crockery and glasses. The wifi worked well throughout the house and flat. Although initially it seemed a little strange to have a lift, it quickly proved invaluable for carrying things up and down the floors of the house. The house was situated in a very convenient part of the town, with the harbour visible from the door, and bars, restaurant and shops within only a couple of minutes walk. It was possible to walk from the house to the centre of the city, the bus station, and all tourist sites in no more than 10-15 minutes.
We had a few teething problems during the first day, most particularly that we couldn't heat the house, and the rooftop hot tub wasn't functional. However, the managing company, were very responsive and helpful, and deserve my praise. The heating was sorted out the next morning, and the bedrooms were then nicely warm and cosy - although it should be noted that while the main communal rooms did not have heating, they did seem to warm up indirectly. Unfortunately the hot tub could not be sorted out in spite of the managers best efforts, though they really did try. When the weather allowed, we were still able to enjoy the lovely views of the harbour and Three Cities from the rooftop sitting area. It should be noted that there is very limited parking in the immediate vicinity of the house, but there is really no need for a car as everything is so close. Also, some of the stairs in the upper part of the house, for example to get to the rooftop, are narrow and would be a struggle for someone with any impaired mobility. However, access to the flat is very easy with the lift, and then all the facilities are on the same level. One gripe - there was only one key, which we had to leave in the key safe every time any of us left or returned to the house. This isn't really adequate, and creates a high likelihood of getting locked out. I hope that this can be addressed.
