Spacious and sympathetically modernised. Easy to access and good pub in the village

Unusually for booking.com this accommodation had to be paid for at the time of booking - December, so perhaps I had firm expectations. There were some small issues but ones that should have been dealt with. The kitchen area didn’t lend itself to ease of use, the hot water tap, despite running for a while never became hot. Whilst I appreciate a streamlined look was desired in the kitchen area having a toaster in a cupboard becomes a fire riskThe coffee machine had not been cleaned and as a result coffee grains were mouldy in the container. There were only bath towels, no hand towels which should be provided. In addition there was no evidence of PAT testing labels on any electrical appliance which one would expect to demonstrate its safety. There was a partially broken chair in the dining area and I would suggest that dust and more importantly cobwebs were evident.
