Great place to stay, convenient location for all local amenities, close to beach,shops etc. Staff are always pleasant, nothing is too much trouble and always eager to help. I have stayed at Breakwater Hostel on numerous occasions for work and vacation time. Really nice atmosphere, clean and safe, staff are friendly and approachable. In a nutshell...! It's home from home. Thank you again for a warm welcome and relaxing stay.

Newquay Hostel Stay

The hostel is well located for beaches surfing and also town amenities. It is also close to south west trekking path . Breakfast is included and cooking facilities provided. A very affordable holiday stay if you are on tight budget. Newquay can be reached by coach connections to Bristol, London and Birmingham, also rail ( change at Par) and flights ( lNewquay local airport) .

The hostel has changed owners. The rooms are due to refurbish.

The hostel was cheaper compared to the other accommodation,maybe that explains why the facilities of the hostel are just so-so. Although I commend that the property is neat and tidy.

The pillows are old and you can see stains on it. The bunk beds are low. If you are assigned on the bottom bed,you cannot sit because of its distance from the upper bed.

Much better places to stay for the same price

It is close to the harbour which, to me, is the nicest part of Newquay.

More hostel than backpackers. It wasn't clean. I wouldn't have felt comfortable sitting in the communal areas. I stayed in three other hostels during my travels through Cornwall. This hostel charged as much but significantly lacked the cleanliness, facilities and service of the others. No staff overnight. No reception area, bar or cafe. I didn't feel safe The clientele I saw did not seem to be backpackers but more residents, giving the place the air of a homeless hostel. No mattress or pillow protectors. Stain (possibly blood) on my pillow in tired, depressing room. A hostel is more than hippy artwork and a guitar.

Amazing - would 100% stay again

Solo female traveller - This is a super welcoming hostel. Has a great kitchen, lounge and tv room. Loved being able to rent surfboards and the place was really clean. Hosts Tom and Harry were amazing, couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Travel, rest, unwind, make friends.

From the moment you arrive the managers make you feel welcome. There are a range of accommodation options, a large kitchen, dining room and several communal relaxation areas. I really enjoyed meeting other guests and arranging to go surfing (you can hire boards here) or to see the town with them.

Personal sehr ok! Sehr schlecht für uns, da 2.Etage, Zimmer mit ausschließlich schlechtem Bett, kein Tisch, keine Stühle, kein Nachtlicht, eben nur Toilettenpapier, keine Handtücher, für uns halt nicht geeignet!
