Had a great time exploring KI then arriving ‘home’ to relax with the quiet & a wine.

Location is very quiet with great views of the ocean. Large windows to observe the wallabies & other wildlife. Property is fully off grid.

The bathroom is a bit narrow & could do with a shelf under the basin for toiletries.

A superbly comfortable, self-contained, private hideaway

We were first-time visitors to King Island, seeking a comfortable base for rest and four days of exploration. As we entered Admirals Cabin, we were overwhelmed by the surroundings, the view, the interior layout, the style and completeness of the accommodation. A great collection of architecture books for browsing as well as board games, etc for all ages are on hand. The layout is perfect for two couples, a family of four / five or for just a couple like us. A few km out of Currie but it's a superbly private location. Fredric, the host, was welcoming and informative online but unobtrusive. Entry and departure is via a lock box. As a tech nerd, I spent too much time mesmerised by the tablet that monitored the off-grid energy flows ... solar panels, battery and fuel back-up. We were also joined outside every evening by a cute family of four wallabies and occasionally an echidna moseying about.

All in all a 10/10 stay.

This stay was 10/10 for us. Worth every penny. The host was welcoming and responsive. The location and setting is truly perfect. This was our first time to King Island and we struck gold with the accom. A view to die for not to mention the sunsets. I’d highly recommend. The place slept two couples comfortably. Minutes away from Currie. Must dos - Golf courses… lunch at Cape Wickham. Steak sandwiches at the King Island Hotel. You can also collect fresh crayfish from here order 24hrs in advance. Steaks from the local butcher are top notch - along with the crayfish pies. Walk the sea kelp track. Take your spritz’s to the Currie Boathouse and watch the fishermen come in. King Island dairy is also a treat.

Wonderful location and very comfortable.

Admiral's Cabin is in a beautiful location 5 minutes drive from Currie. There are wonderful views over bush to the sea. It is very well set up and comfortable. Frederic was a helpful and unintrusive host.
