Luxury 3 Bed Cottage on Rewilding Estate

It was nice to be able to pop into mapperton house and the views/location were beautiful. The cottage itself had most things we needed, which was handy.

No WiFi (and due to remote location no mobile data) for last 2 days and very patchy the rest of the time, so TV was a bit of a no go and was tricky to plan what we wanted to do due to this. This sort of thing wouldn't normally bother us, but as this property was listed as 'luxury' I would have expected damp patches on wall to be sorted, banisters to be repaired, furniture to be repaired etc. For example, both chairs in front garden are broken, a number of castors on beds are missing, so they're on a slant when you lie on them. The paint in bathrooms isn't bathroom paint, so there's water marks all over walls. Just little things but it detracts from the luxury promised in the title. We also arrived to a bag of dog poo on the garden path, dog poo in the back garden, a pile of pasta someone had dumped on the lawn and even a pair of knickers on a bush in the back garden! We took pictures of all of this but as only staying a few days couldn't really be bothered to complain to owners. Also, this is only relevant if you're bringing dogs, but the garden is not secure. Dogs can easily get out, so can't be let out unless watched, especially small dogs!
