About this cabin rental
A peaceful cabin retreat in the Hocking Hills region in southeast Ohio. The cabin is nestled on nearly one acre and directly beside the 26,000 acre Zaleski State Forest surrounding Lake Hope in Vinton County. This secluded cabin offers natural serenity and is a perfect place to get away and unplug. Enjoy a relaxing covered front porch, a warm outdoor fire or a walk in the woods. This cabin consists of two bedrooms, a living room with a tv, a well equipped kitchen and a full bathroom (all linens included). The rustic decor compliments the cabin's comfy and cozy feel. Because our cabin is centrally located between Athens, Hocking and Vinton counties, you have plenty of recreation at your disposal.

The cabin is not child proof, please watch children closely.
The spiral staircase is the only access point to the loft bedroom, a few guests have found it narrow, please refer to pictures is you are concerned.
Firewood is NOT provided, but can be purchased locally.

-20 minutes to Lake Hope State Park, swim, paddleboard, canoe, kayak and more!
-20 Minutes to Lake Hope Lodge-great food and atmosphere!

The check-in process and the kitchen facilities were great. We had everything that we needed. It was a little bit difficult to get to the cabin with the GPS at night, but we did find it. It was a basic cabin with no special amenities, but we did have everything that we needed. The only thing I could say really is that the beds weren’t the most comfortable but overall it was a comfortable stay. We loved how we had a secluded little spot, but we’re still close enough to a supermarket less than 15 minutes away. The outdoor chairs are worn and broken, but you can always bring your own camp chairs and there is furniture on the front porch and a picnic table. We would stay here again, but we would probably upgrade our cabin due to wanting to go with a bigger party next time and have more amenities. I would look to rent from these owners again though.

While the cabin served our needs as a place to stay for the Hocking Hills Winter Hike, the 2 biggest issues for us were filthy blinds and broken blind on the ground level bedroom so anyone driving down the road or walking up to the cabin had a clear view into the bedroom. And the septic system bangs so loud any time you flush or use a sink, it sounds like King Kong approaching.
