THE MAIN FLOOR

The heart of the lodge is its open living, dining, and kitchen area. Prepare meals together, gather around the dining table, or relax on the sectional beside the freestanding gas fireplace.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the whole home.

The Neighborhood:

Stargazer Lodge is located in Snowline, a peaceful gated mountain community surrounded by towering evergreens in Glacier, Washington.

Guests enjoy Snowline’s park like setting, walking paths, playground, open field, and seasonal heated outdoor swimming pool. The park is directly across the street from the lodge, making this an especially convenient location for families.

Snowline sits near the edge of the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest and makes an excellent basecamp for exploring the North Cascades. Mt. Baker Ski Area is approximately 25 to 30 minutes away, with hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, fishing, and scenic drives throughout the surrounding area.

During the warmer months, continue beyond the ski area to Artist Point for some of the region’s most memorable mountain views. Seasonal road access and opening dates depend on snow conditions.

After a day outdoors, return to Snowline for quiet evenings, fresh mountain air, and the relaxed pace of life beneath the trees.

Other Things to Note:

SEASONAL POOL

Guests of Stargazer Lodge may enjoy Snowline’s seasonal heated outdoor swimming pool. The pool is generally available from Memorial Day through Labor Day, although exact opening dates, hours, and availability are determined by the community association and may change because of weather, maintenance, or operational needs.

The community clubhouse is not available for guest use.

SLEEPING SPACES

The upper loft contains a queen over queen bunk but is open to the surrounding area and does not provide the privacy of an enclosed bedroom.

The main floor bunk room has two twin beds and an exterior door leading to the backyard. Guests using this room should be comfortable with this layout.

LAUNDRY ACCESS

The washer and dryer are located upstairs and are accessed through the primary king suite.

STAIRS AND ACCESS

The home is situated on one of Snowline’s more level lots and requires only a few steps to enter. Interior log stairs are required to reach the loft, upper primary suite, second bathroom, and laundry area.

MOUNTAIN LIVING

This is a rural mountain community surrounded by forest and wildlife. Guests may occasionally encounter insects, mice, raccoons, deer, or other animals common to the region. Please keep food and garbage secured and avoid leaving anything outdoors that could attract wildlife.

Weather and road conditions can change quickly, particularly during winter. Guests should check forecasts and current driving conditions before traveling. Snow, ice, fallen trees, storms, and temporary power or internet interruptions are possible in the mountains.

TECHNOLOGY

The home includes high speed internet and a Smart TV. Guests will need to sign in with their own streaming accounts. Although connectivity has improved significantly in the Mt. Baker area, service interruptions caused by weather, power outages, or regional infrastructure remain outside the homeowner’s control.

Cellular coverage varies by carrier and may be limited in Glacier and along portions of the Mt. Baker Highway.

Were were 3 couples staying here together and celebrating our Father's 95th birthday with family living in Sumas and Bellingham. We all agreed that the house and surroundings were lovely and the log cabin finishes attractive. The towels & bedding and beds were of quality and we all slept well. The furniture was newer and comfortable, we enjoyed playing games on the big table. Overall we enjoyed our stay. That being said, there are a few negatives to note. The internet was down most of the time we were there. We reset the router and repositioned the dish to see if that would help but it really didn't. The upstairs TV would not turn on, and the hot tub was dirty with pine needles and bits of Styrofoam and had a slimy feel. We chose not to get in it. The HOA is ridiculously strict. We not only had to give the make model and license plate number of the 2 vehicles that we were driving, but every single person that came to the house during our stay also had to provide this information. Also we had to meet our guests at the gate because we could not buzz them in with the instructions we were given. We were told that the HOA would charge 300 per violation and that they take pictures of each vehicle as it comes through the gate. We also saw an HOA vehicle patrolling the neighborhood. This is enough to insure that we will never stay there again.

I usually come up to stay in Glacier during the 4th of July weekend for the quiet and to escape the fireworks. Unfortunately, there were quite a few explosions audible on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th throughout town. Perhaps local ordinances have changed since last year? The cabin is in a busy timeshare neighborhood across from the playground and there is little privacy. The neighborhood was celebrating the holiday as well and it was very noisy well past the quiet hours of 10pm. The cabin itself was lovely, clean, and well-appointed. The communication with the rental agency was smooth, but directions in the emails for things like checking in and out contradicted the written directions we got from the agent upon check-in as well as the directions written and posted around the cabin. I recommend updating the posted interior information because we were unclear on things like waste disposal and how many cars could fit in the driveway. If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable cabin for a family-friendly gathering with good amenities for children, I recommend this cabin in the Snowline neighborhood. If you are looking for a more remote feeling, quiet, and privacy, look further afield.

Loved the chalet! Great location and the cabin has lots of room for a party of 5. The kitchen is great with all the necessities and extras. Overall, a very good stay. Only downside is the community of Snowline has limited access to the pool and tennis courts to members only. Other than hiking on Baker, at the end of the day, not much to do in the community.
