Spacious Downtown Spot-Sleeps 8!

Very spacious and a great dining table for meals and board games. The location was outstanding for walking to restaurants, shopping and people watching from the window. Quiet neighborhood, safe and sound. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the art. There is a lot of art in every room, including the bathrooms. It’s everywhere and it’s shown in the pictures on th website. What I didn’t notice is how many of the paintings had nudity. Which I should have considered looking more closely as I was traveling with my 9 year old son and my 11 year old daughter. And the nudity tame for sure, we all enjoyed giggling about it. Some of the art had women who appeared to be staring and it was intimidating to my 11 year old so she slept with me and my son slept with his Dad and it was fine just unexpected. I wished there was outdoor seating for recreation or eating. There is a wooden bench on the front porch but it’s in front of the laundry room which I didn’t want to block from anyone using it. Upon arrival the coffee pot was full of cold black coffee and the floor in the basement was sticky, the 3rd row of the dishwasher got missed by whomever unloaded it. None of this should keep you from staying at this property. It’s clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable beds. The couch and chair in th living room could have been more comfortable for watching March madness but it wasn’t a room we were spending a lot of time in, and I was able to take a post hiking nap on that couch every day!

Lovely house, art work is so amazing, rooms are comfortable, bathrooms were clean, modern and perfect. You should review parking before you book, it was easy for us. The hosts provided excellent advice with information. We loved walking around Arcata. We spent 6 days there after lack of snow cancelled another trip. We had a great time hiking and mountain biking

Very walkable and a great house to stay in. The art selections were so much fun and added character to the home!

The Victorian House was beautiful and kept us entertained with all of the art work throughout the house and enjoyed the antiques throughout the house. I enjoyed the open updated kitchen. Instructions and rules that were provided was detailed and easy to read and provided everything we needed to be able to function throughout the house. The mattresses in the bedrooms were comfortable/firm.
