To the west is 2 km from Antiparos. The island is famous for its beaches; Golden Beach is the largest and is located opposite the island of Naxos. Other beaches are: Pounda, Logaras, Piso Livadi, Naoussa bay, Parikia and Agia Irini. The capital, Parikia, is located in a northwestern island bay. From its port there are daily ferries to Piraeus, Heraklion (Crete) and to other islands such as Naxos, Ios, Mykonos and Santorini.
