About this house rental
La Croix nestles against the top of a ridge with commanding, panormaic views of the Dordogne countryside. Our unique, bohemian farmhouse is a perfect environment in which to relax and immerse yourself in this wonderful part of France. The house has one large double bedroom with romantic four poster bed, a large, traditional kitchen, sitting room and dining terrace from which to watch the sunset. And shared pool
The farmhouse, has a large traditional kitchen complete with range cooker and dishwasher. Through the kitchen is a spacious and comfortable sitting room with French windows that lead onto a large dining terrace, ideal for an 'al fresco' dinner as the sun sets to the west. A spiral staircase leads up to the large double bedroom which is the entire width of the farmhouse with romantic, free-standing roll top bath and views of the garden through the round feature window.
You have the freedom of the place. Picnic tables bbq the pool side ,the fire pit area. Feel free to go where you like

La Croix is rural hamlet in the midst of the Dordogne surrounded by sunflower fields. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, painting and sightseeing. There is canoeing, paddle-boarding and tree-top-trek nearby. Small towns nearby are Verteillac, Riberac & St Severin (where there is a small supermarket). Aubeterre, one of the 'beaux villages de France' is a 15 minute drive. There are many restaurants within easy reach.
A car is essential at La Croix. Off road parking is available. There is a train station in Angouleme with car hire facility nearby and another station at Chalais. Bergerac airport is an hour and a half's drive due south, Limoges airport is an hour and 40 minutes north and Bordeaux airport is about an hour and a half west, all of which have car hire.

Sara is a fabulous host and owner of the property and has created a serene setting where the silence is golden and all you hear is birdsong.The property has a distinct boho theme with lots of creative quirks in a typical gite style, plus a great pool setting.The ‘walnut’ gite is all on one level, easy living, power shower, generous balcony with superb views!
