Apartment Les Marquises-8 by Interhome

Nothing significantly wrong with the place, the problem lies with the host, by far the most horrible host I’ve ever experienced among my many dozens of stays with Booking. Inter Home, some giant rental operators in Switzerland, completely impossible to communicate with. Once booking confirmed and fully paid for on Booking I received a long line of insanely convoluted emails, demanding pre registration and mentioning key holder without further details. I pre registered and excepted that’s it, I could just arrive at the apartment, use the lockbox and enter. Not so! First they would give you the name of the apartment but not the address. I messaged them about this which was ignored. I was already in the area and managed to figure out the address so before check in I went shopping for my six day stay after which I drove to the apartment. After a massive effort to dig through their convoluted emails and links I figured out the number of the apartment. So I parked and carried my fresh groceries and other luggage up to the second floor and found the apartment number but not lock box. All confused and hoping to receive a response to my several messages headlined Urgent to the company I returned to my car in 36 degrees heat. After further decoding an email that had just arrived I realized I had to drive to the InterHome office to pick up my keys. This place was located a ten minutes drive from the apartment! So I go there, my poor fresh groceries, including raw meats, were suffering. At the office I am asked if I need bed sheets and towels. I’m told there’s a significant extra charge for this. Hmm, I am not renting a tent! Then I have to use my credit card for a 300 euro deposit even though the apartment was fully paid, except for a 21 euro city tax. Finally I get my keys, a blue folder and a pathetic rubber band for pool access which if lost would punish me with a 30 euro fine.

The place was actually lovely though floors dirty, twice I stepped on painful glass shards. The air conditioning worked only on one end of apartment leaving the bedroom an oven at night. The cleaning closet was disgusting, with wet rags and a vacuum cleaner dripping rusty water, useless to operate. I had the broom the place clean with a broom 80% of the bristles used up.
