Balat Rose - Charming Wooden House with Terrace

Love this little rose/jewel of a home. Wonderful fully restored 200 year old traditional Balat home on 3.5 floors. Next to the police station though crime in the area does not seem to be an issue. The location is just great. Steps to nice restaurants but far from the craziness of the main tourist neighborhoods. The neighborhood is trendy and fun. Easy tram and metro connections a couple blocks away. The owner, Vulcan. could not have been more hospitable. He did everything to make my stay comfortable and easy. I would recommend this home for a couple or families. The beds were great. Washer dryer super handy. Fully equipped kitchen.

Nothing I did not like. I will say that if you are mobility compromised or stairs are a challenge, this may not be the best choice. Two stairways to get to the main bedroom and terrace.

We had a fantastic time staying at Balat Rose. We loved staying in the Balat area, outside of the tourist centre where it's less chaotic but still within reach of everything. The house is beautifully restored and has everything you need. Volkan is a fantastic host that gave us lots of helpful information and extras for our stay, we really appreciated his help throughout our trip. We highly recommend the house for a group or family as it's spacious, has a well-equipped kitchen and nice living room and terrace to relax after expoloring the sites of Istanbul. There are supermarkets, restaurants and coffee shops on the doorstep but the house is on a quiet street, which was great. Highly recommended!
