Fabulous Ocean View, Walking Distance to the Beach

We had a great stay here! The views were incredible and the pool was amazing! It is definitely a longer walk to the beach but we had a car so it was no worries at all. It is an apartment not the whole unit as we thought the listing said but it didn’t really matter to us we were happy with our stay with Sherry! Thanks again!

With its spectacular view, Villa Veranera immediately stood out to us. We booked it for the view, its proximity to Samara Beach, and positive reviews, and our stay exceeded our expectations. Normally the thought of the host living right on site is kind of off putting to us, but I really loved the communication with Sherry before arriving, so I felt relaxed about it. Sherry was the perfect host. She is very relaxed, friendly, and was there if we needed her. This place is a chefs kiss. The view is immaculate, the pool is adorable, and the place has everything you need. After dining in town, we spent most nights relaxing on the gorgeous balcony (on rocking chairs!) chatting away, drinking our Imperials and listening to the sounds of nature. Every morning we woke to a symphony of birds backed by the roaring calls of howler monkeys from the valley below, returning to the porch with a fresh cup of coffee and a camera, hoping to capture some of the action.We were a little apprehensive about the uphill drive to the villa and were thrilled to have our little Suzuki Jimny for the job. As we became familiar with the route, we came to love the drive into town and the location was ideal for setting off on various day trips. It was really easy and quick! We were so happy to be staying at a place not right in town so we could get away. We honestly felt like it was our home for seven days. I wish it was! We WILL be back!

The view shown in the on-line picture from the pool was taken before the trees grew and obstructed the view. The view from the balcony was awesome and private.The infinity pool was not flowing and the pool did not circulate the water during the day. The pool was clean and maintained 2x weekly. The air conditioning worked extremely well.A cleaner came once during our 10 day stay however the ceiling fan was gross and the walls need washing and where the wall and ceiling meet needs to be vacuumed and washed ... bugs, spider webs.Our host was very lovely. She respected our privacy, we felt like we had the property to ourselves, she drove us to town on our first day and showed us where to shop for groceries, best bakery, bank, taxi and doctor if needed. She also drove us to the neighbouring beach one morning as she was going that way to visit a friend. She picked us up on her return. We felt she went over and above our expectations.We would definitely return as the accommodations, town and beach are amazing!

We were really looking forward to our honeymoon stay here, especially after seeing all the glowing reviews—and there are many great things about this place. The view is absolutely stunning, there were plenty of linens and towels, a fully stocked kitchen, access to a washer/dryer, and the location is very convenient to town.However, our experience was unfortunately not quite what we expected. When we arrived, the home didn’t appear to have been properly cleaned for quite some time. It felt like it hadn’t been prepared for new guests, which was disappointing and didn’t set a great tone for us. The owner did offer to send the maid over to clean, which we appreciated, but at that point we questioned the maids abilities and we just wanted our privacy.We also had another issue regarding damage to our property but to their credit, the owners were responsive, and everything was resolved fairly by the end of our stay, including a partial refund, which we appreciated.The owners are very friendly and communicative. Just note that the layout includes a shared carport and not too private patio area, so if you’re looking for total seclusion (like we were for a honeymoon), that might be something to consider.Overall, there are definitely positives here and it’s clear that other guests have had wonderful stays. It’s possible our experience was a one-off, but the cleanliness issue was hard to overlook.
