A FANTASTIC mountain home surrounded by tall forests:
TWO homes (with LOTS of room inside to spread out) proudly stand on this flat green 3-acre lot with PLENTY of room for outdoor fun. (You CANNOT FIND a multi acre FLAT lot or a LARGE LAWN in ANY OTHER property in the area.)
Historic 100+ year-old apple trees on the LARGE lawn add to the charm of this property. The main house has 4 bedrooms upstairs with 2 FULL bathrooms, plus a 1/2 bath and a den downstairs.
(MOST Rentals in Twain Harte and surrounding area ONLY have queen beds. WE HAVE 4 KING BEDS!!).
The Cottage has sleeping for four, a LARGE FULL bathroom and a LARGE fully-equipped kitchen. The Cottage is an
"ADD ON" for an additional fee of $200 per night (+ additional cleaning fee) and is NOT rented separately. Both houses are furnished with lots of beautiful decor.

3 California KING beds with super comfortable mattresses and super awesome sheets! Trust me on this, you'll be HAPPY :)
*Master bedroom has 50" flat screen TV, large leather chair with ottoman, walk-in closet and en suite FULL bathroom.
The master bathroom has a door dividing the double sinks and large counter surface from the toilet, shower and separate tub for additional privacy.

When you drive on to this SPACIOUS and PEACEFUL setting you immediately feel at home. Plenty of parking for 5 cars on level ground.
The Mountain House has many updates, including--but not limited to--decor, furnishings, appliances, fixtures, flooring, fire pit, 81' bocce ball court and more. Appliances and electronics: Starlink WiFi, Roku TV, 2 Blu-ray players. Three TV's in the main house: the living room - 60" with Surround Sound; master bedroom - 50"; and kitchen - 27" (monitor only). The glass french doors in the foyer lead into the main living space. The dining table has seating for 8. The bar high custom-made wine barrel table in the kitchen area seats 6 - 8 and is also perfect for playing cards! Dual ovens in the kitchen: one propane, one electric. Just off the kitchen is a laundry area and a 1/2 bath. The living room is large and comfortable. The den, just off the living room, is equipped with a desk, couch, games and DVD's. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms (THREE have KING BEDS), a master bathroom and another FULL bath.

The Cottage is a VERY large open studio living space with a 60" TV with Surround Sound, Roku TV, and a Blu-ray player; very colorful and super comfy Bob Timberlake sofas, sleeping for four with 1 KING bed and 1 bunk bed. One FULL bathroom and a FULLY EQUIPPED kitchen. The Cottage is an "ADD ON" for an additional fee of $200 per night (+ additional cleaning fee) and is not rented separately.

Large decks surround both the house and the cottage and a large multi-burner propane barbecue is there for your enjoyment. There is a custom made 81' bocce ball court, corn hole, badminton, croquet, whiffle ball, horseshoes, ping pong, basketball hoop and fire pit for s'mores!

The property couldn’t have more been perfect. We had all ages and everyone was happy with all the things that were available to entertain them. Bocce, baseball, ping pong, fire pit w s'mores were a few highlights. The house was well stocked and we were very comfortable. I highly recommend this property!

This was our second time to stay as we celebrated Mom's 85th birthday. Our small family LOVED the peacefulness and serenity all the while enjoying time together. The property is incredibly well landscaped and useful for multiple enjoyment. Our host, Cathy is very easy to communicate with and answers very quickly. Already planning another trip!

Its hard to find a home with so many good amenities that can hold two families comfortably. The home has everything you need and more. We had such a wonderful stay playing games in the yard, bbqing dinners, and fire pit evenings. The beds were comfortable and the sheets luxurious.

A short 5 mins. from downtown Twain Harte yet secluded enough to feel the mountain atmosphere. The owner made everything easy, very knowledgeable of local interests and was a pleasure to work with. We had such a terrific vacation at the Mountain House. We relaxed, played, cooked, and visited the local lakes for water sports and just had a lot of fun. The property is beautiful and meets our needs as a family.

During our stay in Twain Harte, we were fortunate to stay in the beautiful home(s) owned by Cathy and Mark Burket. During our stay from the 1st to the 6th of April, the weather was unseasonably cool with snow on the ground the entire time. However, we enjoyed the property, the ability to spread out in the house and cottage, and the many tourist destinations, restaurants in the area, and the excellent Twain Harte market. The house and cottage were well stocked with everything you need when staying for a few days. Items in the house were carefully marked so we could tell what switch belonged to which set of lights, where dishes were supposed to go, and how to operate equipment. Because of the cost of electricity, the heating was carefully controlled which makes sense for those of us who continue to enjoy affordable VRBO properties. Owner support was excellent, from the best way to drive to the property, to answering questions as they came up. Checkout procedures included a detailed check out sheet which allowed us to identify issues so they could be fixed prior to the next tenant. We had two very minor issues, one of which was a light bulb that went out (and there were still plenty of other lights). Motion activated lights in the restrooms were a great, a very user-friendly safety feature. I’ll sum it up this way, while we enjoyed features like the Big Trees state park, the llama ranch, gold mining, etc., in better weather, we would have been quite content to

This home is incredibly clean, spacious, organized and well equipped with opportunities to play and relax. We played basketball, whiffle ball, bocce and board games all with equipment found in the home. We drove a short way to tennis and pickleball as well. Hiking nearby was beautiful and the town of Twain Harte has a great grocery store, wine tasting and restaurant that we enjoyed.

We had a picture perfect family vacation!! 12 of us, My husband & myself, 2 adult daughters & their husbands & 6 grandchildren. The accommodations were perfect for our family! Each couple had a bedroom with super comfortable king size beds, 4 grandchildren had a bedroom with 4 twins & a den with pull-out sofa for the 2 older kids. The home was beautiful with every amenity one could want or need down to the finest details such as candles in each room for night lights & s'more sticks to use each night around the fire pit. There was bocce ball, basketball, wiffle ball, every sport imaginable to satisfy our family. We will have so many precious memories & can hardly wait to book our next vacation in the Twain Harte mountain home!!

This home was spacious, well-organized, and immaculate. The kitchen was incredible, with more than adequate counter space and working space. The property was beautiful, and very well maintained. We particularly enjoyed the ping pong table -- although we play with great enthusiasm and very little skill. We will definitely stay here again!

What a great weekend our family had at this Mountain House! We rent homes a couple times a year., and this house is by far our favorite. The property is huge, spacious, and beautiful, the interior is also spacious and beautiful, and beyond comfortable. This house has everything you need in terms of comfort, cooking, movies, games, and seating. The bedrooms are so tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, especially the firm mattresses, and soft pillows, I slept all night through, which rarely happens in rental houses for me. All the bedrooms had folding luggage racks, which is a real plus for me. All the bedrooms had extra blankets in plastic bags, which is wonderful. I loved that the bedrooms had few very knick-knacks, which I really appreciated. There was also body wash in the showers, another plus!! There were just so many extra pluses for me, it was really perfect for us! The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING you want and need!! From children's cups, forks, plates, all the adult dishes, platters, pots, pans, cookie sheets, bowls, large, small, amazing!! The seating was very comfortable in the dining room, seating 8, the kitchen had a tall table with 4 bar stools and 2 more under the island. The refrigerator was big, fit all we had plus more. There is a French door you could close off between the dining room ( the downstairs space) into the entryway ( the staircase), which was perfect, as we had a baby that wanted to crawl up the stairs. Another thoughtful plus with this house. The deck off the kitchen was big, 2 tables with 4 chairs each to eat outside and just relax, 4 very comfortable rocking chairs on the front porch to relax and have some quiet time when needed. We loved the front porch, and found we sat there in the afternoon. The outside space is beyond amazing!! The comfortable fire pit, the general store with every yard game you'd want, the bocce ball court, horseshoe pit, basket ball. The driveway was big enough for parking, basketball, and the kids to razor around. The cottage was another amazingly comfortable addition. Beautifully decorated, not cluttered, perfect for our family with 2 small children. We spent our days playing games, enjoying our family and friends, never leaving the property because we had so many things to do and play, it was just perfect for our active family, and also perfect for those that want to sit and watch from the beautiful deck. The house has many large outside lights, to play in the evening. We will be back!

THIS IS OUR SECOND STAY AT THE MOUNTAIN HOUSE PROPERTY. OUR FIRST STAY WAS AWESOME, BUT SINCE THEY, THE OWNERS HAVE MADE FURTHER ENHANCEMENTS TO THE PROPERTY. KITCHEN IS WELL APPOINTED, MAKING COOKING IN A BREEZE. THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO ON THIS PROPERTY, THAT YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE DURING YOUR STAY FROM AN ENTERTAINMENT STANDPOINT (BOCCE BALL, HORSE SHOES, PING PONG, WIFFLE BALL, BASKETBALL, ETC......). THIS TIME, SOME OF OUR PARTY VENTURED OFF TO PINE CREST LAKE, AND HAD A BLAST! THEY COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW CLOSE IT WAS TO THE PROPERTY. IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO TWAIN HARTE, YOU CANNOT BEAT THE ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE MOUNTAIN HOUSE!!!

My family and I live in the Bay Area and were looking for a place to stay during the 4th of July weekend. Our list of must haves included: lots of space, quiet scenery, close to a body of water, and amenities to make us feel at home. The Mountain House did not disappoint in the least. The property was above and beyond what we expected and I would refer friends to this location with 100% certainty they will have a great time. Our party was 16 people and we actually could have fit a couple more with the amount of space the property offers. If you are looking to hear birds, owls, and see millions of stars opposed to hearing cars, people, and seeing a stuffy sky, this is a great place to be. We will definitely be returning!

My family and I stayed in the cottage as part of a large family 4th of July get-a-way. The cottage was lovely and very well-appointed: beautiful decor, great beds and enormous, completely stocked kitchen. Everything was gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was nice to play bocce ball and horseshoes, and sit around the fire pit each evening. It's a wonderful property for a family vacation!

Our large extended family (17) spent four nights here and we had an amazing time. We rented the home and the cottage. The owners provide so many activities, we hardly wanted to leave! It is beautifully maintained and has every amenity - the owners thought of everything!! The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings are top quality. I loved having two stoves in the kitchen - one gas and one electric! Outside the home is equally pristine. Our kids played wiffle ball, bocce ball, and ping pong, and we sat around the fire pit every night. We went to Pinecrest Lake one day - it was about a 20 minute drive but was worth it. It has rentals, nice restrooms, a snack bar, and plenty of shade for the older folks. We loved our stay and hope to make this an annual vacation spot!! And I should mention that ages ranged from 7 months to 83 years old. The best VRBO we've ever rented!!

My family had an opportunity to spend the weekend at this WONDERFUL Mt. House. There was plenty of room for the four families that came up with us. From the house to the yard, the owers have thought of everything. They have a wonderful fenced in yard so we felt comfortable to let our kids run wild outside. They played Foos Ball, Booce Ball, Basketball, road bikes etc. all while we relaxed on the deck in their cute rocking chairs. We loved sitting around the fire pit at night. It was a nice break from the craziness of the Bay Area. We felt like we were gone a week. Being so close to the Bay Area we will be renting this Twain Harte Mt. House more often. This has become one of our top 10 getaways spots.

My husband and I and our 3 kids stayed in the cottage on this property. It was so beautiful and very spacious. Our older kids loved the bunk beds and our six month old slept great in a hallway that was secluded from the noise we made in the living room. We had friends staying in the big house and our baby monitor picked up reception there so that was very convenient. The property itself is beautiful and quiet and there is a lot of great space for kids to run around and ride bikes. We enjoyed our stay there and can't wait to go back!

Mountain House was a perfect "fit" for the needs of our particular group, and I recommend it to other groups most highly! We were one of the first large groups in this recently purchased and refurbished property, and it exceeded our expectations on every level. There was something for all of us, ranging in ages from 1 to 61. As wonderful as the advertisement photos were, the home is ever BETTER in person. The new owners decorated with impeccable mountain resort décor, well-appointed furnishings, expansive green lawns, and an open feeling within each room with lots of sunlight pouring through windows. The fully stocked kitchen (all new appliances, two stoves plus a microwave) with generous granite countertops easily accommodated our group of 14 when meals were being prepared and served. My husband slept better than he has in a while – a combination of a great mattress, clean country air, and the silence of the country. The men in our group completely threw themselves into an ongoing bocce ball tournament on the custom-built court. It was a blast to see the guys having so much fun! There are numerous places inside and out for conversations, including a deck, a front porch, a fire pit surrounded by chairs, and grouping of chairs on each side of bocce ball. No detail has been overlooked at the Mountain House to make guests feel welcome and comfortable in an authentic country setting, but with all the luxuries of home.
