Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage (vrbo/78339) followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!
Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Sandy Shores is a very unique “slice of old Florida”, with lots of flowers, palms, lounging areas, privacy, all with a relaxed vibe. There are only four units on the property and three of them rent on a weekly basis – so most of the time you have the whole place to yourself.
The Gulf Cottage is a single story, one bedroom House, very private, quiet and clean with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.
The kitchen has everything what a chef would wish for, a big fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove included. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.
Behind the Gulf Cottage and landscaped courtyard is a two story building – the top floor I reside in – with the PATIO and GARDEN Cottages below.
The Patio Cottage has a King Bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa, the Garden Cottage has a Queen Bed and a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Both have a full kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Myrtle Hall’s wonderful patio cottage this past November. It was a great time right from the start. Upon our late afternoon arrival, she guided us right through her well-appointed beachfront property to view a beautiful Florida sunset. What a thoughtful way to welcome guests! The grounds and the accommodations were lovely. Myrtle goes to great lengths to provide a comforting experience, carefully explaining everything from parking to using the TV. The location is ideal for beach strolls and offers close proximity to fine and casual dining. The apartment had beach towels, beach chairs and loungers, fully stocked bathroom including shampoo, conditioner, moisturizing lotion, and even bug spray and sun tan lotion. The kitchen had salt and pepper and the refrigerator had butter. If we had to name one favorite characteristic, it would be that there are only 2 other guest parties (at most) staying there with you, so it feels very calm and private.

We truly enjoyed our stay in the beach cottage. The cottage had a warm and cozy atmosphere and had everything we needed. We walked through a garden path to directly access the beach. It was just beautiful. We hope to stay there again one day.

Great clean cottage with easy access to beach. Plenty of outdoor seating in garden. Comfortable bed. Plenty businesses for food, drinks and live music.

I had an amazing stay! From the moment I arrived, the host was incredibly attentive and welcoming—making sure everything was perfect and that I felt right at home. The cottage itself is comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.The beachfront location is absolutely stunning—just steps from the sand with gorgeous views and peaceful surroundings. I especially loved relaxing on the patio, enjoying the sea breeze and sunsets.The convenience of nearby shopping and restaurants made it easy to explore and enjoy the area without any hassle. Truly a perfect spot for a beach getaway— I can’t wait to return!
