Lovely property in a small and unspoilt village . Nearest facilities are 2km away in Plouharnel. Bike and walking routes on the doorstep. We hired bikes in advance for whole week from Location Velos in Plouharnel (nice guys to deal with) and had a great time plus avoiding need to drive for light shopping and restaurants. Visits to Vannes, Auray and Carnac recommended. Very pleasant host as well

Very kind and helpful host. The house was as described and clean. The kitchen functions well. Looking forward to coming again.

The property is situated as close to the extensive beach at St Barbe as you will find; around 10 mins walk. The local town (Plouharnel) for supermarche, boulangerie and local marche (twice per week) is 10 mins by bike. The Foret d'Adrenaline is also around 10 mins by car, excellent activity centre (Like Go Ape, but better as they have a more laissez faire/less paranoid "elf of safety" approach in France..), which we have visited before when staying in Morbihan region. There are also the "megalithic stones" and the small WW2 museum nearby. The property itself comprises a downstairs double bedroom, galley kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, oven, good size fridge), living area and upstairs there are 2 single and one double bed. This is in the eves so a little cramped for head room. As with most French properties, do remember to take all your own bed linen and towels! The bathroom also houses a small washing machine which is perfectly adequate, shower (works well), sink, no bath. The floors are tiled throughout downstairs, wooden upstairs. The garden area is the best feature, it is enclosed, densely planted shrubbery sheltering it from the coastal winds and very private, table, 6 chairs, large table shade, BBQ, a lovely place to hang out. The property adjoins another rental property (it is one former house split in two I think) but we had no issues with sound ingress, I suspect that depends on ones neighbours at the time! There is also an organ if you're musically inclined... My only criticism (apart from having to take/buy your bed linen) is that a couple of the chairs in the living area have legs which are in need of repair, go carefully on these!) Jean Maurice, the owner was very friendly and made contact by phone and text as we arrived and responded promptly to texts. He has reasonable English. Note that the phone reception isn't great, but texts seem to work best in this locale. Overall we would definitely recommend this property and certainly be happy to stay there again.
