We really enjoyed a great week at the chalet. The accommodation was well maintained and clean and had everything we needed. Nice outside space to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and gave us good advice for activities in the area. Excellent location for hiking and exploring the Mercantour National Park. Overall we had a really nice time and would definitely recommend it.

We have spent a week at the cottage from the 15th to the 23rd September 2018. We came from Denmark with our 2 yo daugther. We flew to Nice, rented a car and drove 1h30 to the cottage. The cottage is located at 1.800m, right next to the natural park of Mercantour. The closest hike is approx. 200 m from the property. The cottage is located in Le Boreon, which is famous for its artificial lake. It is not possible to swim in it but many come fishing in it. Le Boreon is typically what you would look for if you want to be close to nature. It contains only a few houses and small hotels used by nature enthusiats. It is so small that it has no shops and is part of the village of St Martin Vesubie, located down at 8km. We were lucky with the weather with sunny days and mild temperatures (up to 23 degrees). We enjoyed it to go for 3 hikes in the mountain. We were lucky that the owners made available a baby carrier, so we could take long hikes of up to 15km, and our girl could sleep in it and then join the fun when having breaks in flats areas up hill. The cottage got the certification “family plus”, meaning that it is safe and that the owners have put many toys for us, for example kids books, duplo, a “tobogan” outside, etc. The cottage has a nice terasse with view on the lake and mountains with a table and chairs. Inside it is fully equiped with TV, dish washer, washing machine, shower, cofee machine, boiler, etc. It offers as well equipment to make “raclette” or “fondue”. We had two raclettes ;) Other than hikes, we have spent a day at the alpha park and seen wolfs and other animals. The staff was really nice and souvenir shop really interesting. We have also been to the Mountain park in the village and spent an hour in the swimming pool (one is dedicated for babied and todlerd, and the staff was kind as well to give us toys for our daugther). We also went to the market and enjoyed some local food at the restaurant. The village is quite nice too. One advise is to visit the tourist office in the heart of the village. They are really helpful and dynamic. Have a look at their Website. The cottage is on two floors. Kitchen and living room on the ground floor and bedrooms and bathroom at the first floor. The cottage is equiped with a safety fence on the upper floor, which parents of todlers will appreciate. We hope this review will be helpful and that if you decide to rent the cottage, you will enjoy as much as we did.
