About this house rental

An elegant, characterful 16th-century château, steeped in history and meticulously restored, nestled within a peaceful residential hamlet in the heart of the renowned "Val Lamartinien" vineyards, bordering meadows (sometimes grazing horses seasonally). In the heart of a beautiful, gently rolling countryside, both wine-growing and natural, nestled in a bucolic, verdant valley where vast vineyards, pastures, and cultivated fields alternate, it lies beneath the wooded ridges of the magnificent surrounding mountains (at the confluence of the sublime Vergisson and Solutré plateau, the Haut Beaujolais, and the Massif Sud Bourgogne). A spacious and comfortable gîte (holiday cottage). Its charming contemporary country style is enhanced by careful heritage restoration (preserving the original, rich traces of the past: stone walls, an elegant stone fireplace mantel, stone window lintels, and a rare and unusual stone sink). A serene and charming atmosphere in a historic residence. A large, sunny, and shaded terrace opens onto a vast, enclosed, landscaped park of 1 hectare, offering privacy and meticulous maintenance. The park includes a unique, stocked pond (a small canal where fishing is permitted). Enjoy a peaceful, unobstructed view of the property. Composition: Self-catering cottage in the owner's house (completely independent with no overlooking neighbors). Wi-Fi and Bluetooth soundbar. Gas central heating and wood-burning stove. Washing machine and dryer shared with the owner in a laundry room (accessible from the outside, directly in the courtyard next to the cottage). The cottage is a duplex. Ground floor: living room/kitchen/lounge. First floor: bedroom (two single beds 90x190cm that can be joined to make a double bed 180x190cm), mezzanine landing, shower room, separate WC. Private terrace and parking. Enclosed 1-hectare park (including a courtyard) + shared bicycle storage. All amenities 3.5 km. Mâcon Loché train station 5.5 km. Comfortable holiday cottage located within an elegant, characterful 16th-century château steeped in history and carefully restored - nestled in a vast, meticulously maintained 1-hectare enclosed park - 3.5 km from the charming, typical market town of Charnay-lès-Mâcon (all amenities on site) and 7 km from Mâcon, the southernmost city of Burgundy. Quiet residential hamlet nestled in the heart of the countryside at the southern tip of the Mâconnais hills and bordering the upper Beaujolais region, in the heart of the renowned "Val Lamartinien" vineyard (named after the famous French poet and writer / first vines on site), nestled between the very first foothills of the southern Burgundy massif and the magnificent nearby landscape of the Roches de Solutré and Vergisson, a designated "Grand Site de France" (located 5 km away). A splendid rural and wine-growing setting surrounded by gently rolling mountains (partly classified and protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone"), rich in sublime panoramas and landscapes, to be discovered on foot or by bike (a very large marked mountain biking area to explore on both massifs, including the nearby Grand Tour of the South Burgundy Massif). A prime location on a marked "green walk" footpath (connected to a rich network of similar hiking trails winding between vineyards and unspoiled nature to be discovered in the surrounding area), 800m from the greenway, adjacent to the "Burgundy Wine Route" (Mâconnais-Beaujolais) and the Romanesque churches circuit. An exceptionally privileged location at the crossroads of the Rhône and Ain rivers, at the intersection of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions (numerous vineyards to explore), the Clunisois-Tournugeois area (designated a "Land of Art and History") and the Bresse region of the Ain. Ideal for easy exploration (RCEA 3.5 km / A6 6.5 km): 5.5 km from the Mâcon Loché TGV station, 17 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cuny, 18 km from the renowned Touroparc Zoo, 35 km from Tournus (world-famous abbey site), 36 km from Beaujeu (historical capital of Beaujolais), 41 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône and 49 km from Charolles. A perfect "base" located close to major roads and all amenities, for an ultra-rejuvenating romantic getaway!
