FLH Praça Comércio Artistic Flat with Balcony

The apartment was very nice and modern within a renovated building with nice elevators (2). Near unlimited shops, restaurants, and entertainment. A/C worked well. There is a very narrow walk out balcony, but the concrete rail is too high to see over and barely able to see a glimpse of the street so didn't use. I contacted the property manager before deciding to rent the unit and asked about any construction in the area. They wrote back no, so I booked it. Turns out there is an entire city block about 5 stories high under construction directly across the street which starts work fairly early in the morning and goes all day. After arriving and asking about it, they responded "we can't keep track of all the small construction going on in the area". This is a 3 years project at least! Also, luckily this didn't happen until the last night for us, but the fire alarm went off 3 times with some evacuating. These events somehow also impacted the thermostats & A/C which stopped working too until we left. Finally, the overall level of communication was fine, but the check-in process is very poor. This is more of a corporate rental management approach where they make it easy on them instead of more personal and pleasant for the renter. You have to go to a separate location to check-in and get your key before going to the apartment. Since it isn't recommended to rent a car within Lisbon, that is two separate taxi/Uber rides with handling your luggage both times before and after the rides. At lease they allow you to leave the keys on the table at the end of the rental.
