Summary:
You just need to take few steps outside to immerse your feet into the sea and the warm beach: Villa Luna Rossa occupies an idyllic position in front of the beach with a superb view of Mount Etna and can accomodate up to 14 guests!
Spacious bedrooms, big garden all around the villa, sunbeds, Barbecue area, two kitchens with dining room (one inside the villa and one in a wooden lodge in the garden), playground, hammock, picnic table: a really enchanting Villa!
The Space:
This nice and refined Villa has been recently restored and furnished with Mediterranean style: comfortable, functional and cozy inside, with a touch of typicality and provided with everything you could possibly wish for a holiday. It's a pleasure to come back to after a day on the beach or sightseeing.
The tasteful decorated rooms are large and bright, with high ceilings.
Here below some more details about the structure of this two floors property:
The Ground Floor:
- living room with TV and a comfortable sofa bed (2)
- a double bedroom (2)
- a triple bedroom with a double bed (2)
- a quadruple bedroom with a double bunk bed (4)
- a complete bathroom with shower
- two access doors to the villa from the street and two leading to the garden.
The First Floor:
- fully well equipped kitchen (kettle, dish washing, toaster, oven, fridge, freezer)
- large dining table
- bedroom with two double beds and a single one with balcony overlooking Mount Etna and the garden (5)
- a complete bathroom with shower
- wide panoramic paved terrace overlooking the sea and the bustling Mount Etna furnished with outdoor furniture.
The villa is surrounded by a verdant garden where you'll find a delightful wooden lodge with another little equipped kitchen combined with dining room, a barbecue area with a pic-nic table under a pergola, sunbeds and hammocks, an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and a playground for children.
Guest Access:
Guests are allowed to have exclusive access to the entire property.
Furthermore in Summer time (from the last week of May to the first week of September, weekdays only), we will be glad to offer for all the duration of the stay *entry + umbrella + beds* at Lido Luna Rossa, bathhouse and private beach within walking distance (just crossing the street), where you can access all the services that the lido offers its clients daily routine (Bar, restaurant, Beach-Volley, Ping pong, Mini-Club, entertainment ...) and always have a reference for any need and information.
The Neighborhood:
The town center of Fondachello is just a few minutes far from the villa: there you will find the features Sicilian, bars (cafè), shops, restaurants, etc.
Riposto the main town of the area with the lovely touristic port of the Etna is a few miles far and offers many services too: restaurants, bars, supermarkets, train station, etc.
You can easily reach both centers walking or cycling in the cycle line just in front of Villa Luna Rossa.
Mount Etna is just behind you; from the garden or from the panoramic terrace you can admire its beauty and, if you are lucky, even some lava flows.
Getting Around:
Villa Luna Rossa is in a perfect location for any kind of trip along the Ionian coast: the most beautiful towns, between the mountain and the sea, are at less than 30 minutes far by car from the Villa.
The pebble beach is just in front of the villa with direct access a few meters from it, just crossing the road (30 mt)
Other Things to Note:
Villa Luna Rossa has a convention with the private shore LIDO LUNA ROSSA, in Fondachello Beach: from the last week of May to the first week of September, for all the duration of your stay, beach umbrellas and beach chairs will be set aside for you every weekday including in the rental price - weekend not included. Inside the Lido you will find a beach volleyball field, children's play area (with expert animators), a café bar serving meals all-day, pedalo hire, wine and cocktails bar etc.
On request we organize transfer from/to the airport, hire car and bike service, excursions, boat trips and other experiences to discover our land in unconventional way.
“Home shopping service”: just let us know what you need and we'll deliver it to you directly at the villa from our trusted supermarket every morning.

Perfectly situated across from the beach. The house itself is large, as is the garden and easily fit us. It does suffer from disrepair.

The Villa was excellent for our group of 10. From the grandkids to the grandparents we all enjoyed our vacation. There was plenty of space, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens but we would have another umbrella in the BBQ area so that we could enjoy it even in the morning.
The staff is great as well.

We had a lovely 10 days in your clean, spacious villa. Perfect for a family of two adults and two teenagers looking to relax and explore the beautiful island of Sicily.
We loved the 4x4 tour of etna you organised for us and we explored the local towns and villages. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food good and inexpensive.
The Lido, just across the road was very welcoming and a great place to swim though the fantastic villa garden was also well used. Dinner on the roof terrace overlooked by etna was definitely a highlight though.
We were well looked after by Chiara and knew that if there was a problem it would be sorted. Initially we had an issue with a swarm of ants but once the cleaners spotted them they responded quickly and by the end of the day the ants had been cleared and we never saw another one in the villa all holiday. Some items in the house were not working but nothing that caused us a problem and when we told Chiara she responded well and I am sure they were replaced as soon as possible.

There were many issues, some were fixed within the first week, some were not fixed until we left (distroyed BBQ). Sometimes we had to tell the owner twice to fix something (broken bed). Rattling fan in the kitchen (noosy), A/C was working in all rooms. The rooms were big.
Ant poison was on the terrace when we arrived (unsafe for small children).
Always lock all doors when you leave the premise as the garden and terrace were publicly accessible from the outside.
Old and worn furniture, some things were unsafe for small kids. Cutlery was not enough for 2 meals (we were 9 people).
The location was great, the lido staff was amesome, the walls of the house inside and outside were freshly renovated prior our stay, new pots were there. Nice toys for the kids were there.
No english introduction to the house, key was not working properly (got replacement after 3 days), Wifi was not working but fixed after 3 days, mold in the shower (removed after 3 days), ants in the bathroom and kitchen (dishwasher).
Garden wooden furniture was worn and unsafe for small children. Shade in the garden all day.
The pool was dirty from the beginning and cleaned once. The tanks and visible pumps dont look nice. The aboveground pool is not made for elderly people as it is really hard for them to get in and out.
Partly, the garden was bare earth and crawling todlers get dirty.
The bed frames were old and some rattling.
We didnt understand the garbage situation (sometimes it was picked up, sometimes not).
