Six miles down the road will bring you to downtown Boone, home to Appalachian State University, local shopping, dining, and parks. Hop on The Blue Ridge Parkway, only five miles away, and marvel at the breathtaking mountain views. Hikers of all skill levels will find the perfect hiking trail for them. Downtown Blowing Rock is seven miles away and boasts local shopping, dining, and a large public park. If you're traveling in the winter, Appalachian Ski Mountain is home to skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. Grandfather Mountain and Banner Elk are a thirty-minute drive.
