Casa do Azevim is located in the hamlet of Bouça dos Homens, belonging to the hamlets of Peneda and Beleiral, in the parish of Gavieira, in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez.
Bouça dos Homens is a small village with an imposing and breathtaking landscape. At an altitude of 1,070 metres, it lies on the edge of the Peneda Gerês National Park.
It is surrounded by five mountain peaks: to the south is Alto da Pedrada (1,416 metres above sea level), to the south-east is Cume da Peneda/Castelo do Pedrinho (1,374 metres above sea level), to the north is Alto da Costa/Fojo (1,290 metres above sea level), to the west is Outeiro Alvo (1,314 metres above sea level) and to the south-east is Penameda (1,268 metres above sea level).
With its unrivalled beauty, where the sounds of nature create a symphony that invites us to listen and relax, Casa do Azevim awakens well-being in all those who appreciate peace and quiet and encourages those who enjoy new challenges to embark on exciting mountain adventures.
There is no shortage of walking routes and trails in this area, with varying degrees of difficulty, which allow hiking, trails, mountain biking and other mountaineering-related sports to guide our emotions.
The great snowfalls in winter, the unique landscapes and the tasty gastronomy characterise this place as a little paradise worth visiting and discovering!
Here you can rest in the cosiness of a small Open Space house, with a bedroom with a double bed and a living room with a double sofa bed. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. The maximum capacity is 4 people, ideally for a couple or a couple with children.
The house has a rustic look, but guarantees the necessary modern comforts.
The view, at the foot of the Serra da Peneda, is breathtaking. It's like opening the window to the purest natural experience, where you live in full communion with its fauna and flora: animals such as the garrano horse or the cachena and pisca cows go up and down the mountain, getting to know every nook and cranny at the stride of a footprint.
In the interior porch, the large window invites you to read, observe or simply be at peace with the nature that surrounds you.

The house is hidden in the mountains.
Everything you need is inside the house.
It is quiet and peaceful. During the day cows and horses come visit you. Also a cat and dog kept us company. Between the mountains you can walk through nature and enjoy the environment.
We went to see an old Village and market, eat at local restaurants, visited a swimming Pool and tasted the green wine. We had a wonderful stay.

Staying at Casa do Azevim feels like you take a trip back in time. It was magical and peaceful. The outdoor space was everything from the hammock to the fireplace. The place is very thoughtfully decorated, and you have everything at the place that you need. Just make sure to stop at the grocery store before you trek up the mountain. 10/10 would stay again!

A cosy place for those seeking nature, tranquility and peace.Super comfortable space with heaps of personal touches - the hosts even left us extra local products to enjoy!Hope to return in better weather to enjoy the hammock :)
