We are excited to be the new owners of, Windwood Serenity, (formerly, Castaways Cove) in Caribe Point on the south shore.
Your eco-friendly private water-front Boat house rental awaits with the Caribbean Sea at your door!
When choosing where to spend your vacation, we know you have many options. Knowing what to expect helps you make a good choice, and helps us to make a good impression.
Staying on the East end has gotten so much easier with the new main road! Traveling from the airport or exploring the island, the newly paved road, has made a huge difference!
Our property sits on the hillside above the water. Access to the boathouse and or dock is via a staircase leading down from the pool level which you can see in the photos. The private, nautical-themed, one-1 Bedroom boat house sits right above the water and is the perfect choice for couples seeking quiet privacy, getting in touch with nature, immediate water access, and picturesque views for a romantic getaway or as an oasis for water sports..
The water in the bight is clean, here on the south shore where the shallow reef attracts a variety of sea life. The breezes are wonderful for coolness and helps keep bugs at bay.
This eco-friendly sea front rental includes an air conditioned 1 bedroom* with a Queen- Size bed, a spacious living area, and fully equipped kitchen.
We are an eco-friendly VRBO. Please plan on bringing reef friendly sunscreen or better yet rash guards. We encourage the use of re-fill water bottles and provide a clean water dispenser inside your rental. Please do not drink the water from the tap. It is not filtered. But no need to buy bottled water and add to the surplus of plastic in our world and oceans.
Leave no trace and respect the reef and sea life. Please no throwing anything in the water. Absolutely no touching, standing on or taking souvenirs from the reef.
Because the south shore is known for its breezes, ceiling fans in the living/eating area keep boathouse comfortable and many guests do not even use the air conditioning in the bedroom.
Steps away from the boathouse, our private dock offers unlimited opportunity! Leisurely snorkel our shallow area of the reef, or kayak to the nearby mangrove tunnels built by the Paypan Indians and used by pirates. Other kayak destinations include nearby restaurants like Trico’s (Jonesville Point Marina) , On the Rock, Hole in the Wall and McNabbs.
Sit-On-Top Kayaks, are included free with this rental**. Our guests tell us the island's best snorkel is right at the entrance to our bight, where you can snorkel day after day and always see different marine life.
Other options included arranging for personalized dive services, boat excursions or a catamaran snorkeling trips. Tortuga Diving at Tricos or Reef House offer diving, lessons or a discovery dive - no certification needed. A local fishing guide or water taxi offer island exploration. Taxi or van service can also be coordinated depending upon your destination needs. (please note, private excursions, water taxi, etc. are outside of your rental quote.)
There is access to diving, restaurants and other great activities via water taxi right from our dock. Fresh seafood (fish, shrimp, lobster) delivery is another option.
We invite all our guests to enjoy our 30-foot- long swimming pool, sun patio and covered seating area as well as complimentary use of our kayaks.
Logistically, our entire property consists of the main house where the owners reside with their 3 dogs. The Boathouse, which sleeps 2 guests, and a full two-2 bedroom Villa Rental (VRBO Rental # 3262861**) which sleeps up to 5 people. So crowds at the pool are never a problem. PLEASE NOTE, GUESTS AT THE POOL OR YOUR RENTAL ARE STRICTLY PROHIBIITED.
Additionally, we also maintain a quiet time of after 10 pm. You are still welcome to enjoy subdued conversation and the fresh ocean breezes till later but kindly understand this rule is to insure everyone’s peaceful later night time enjoyment.
We are away from the noisy main tourist area and cruise ships, yet only 20 minutes from French Harbour restaurants and shopping. We're just 3 miles from Turquoise Bay and west of Jonesville and Oakridge.
Our property is surrounded by woods and has lush tropical flora. and our dock provides easy access for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating.
We will always respect your privacy, but as we live on property, we are available to answer any questions or address any concerns.

If looking for peace and quiet with a view then this is fantastic place. The pool and kayaks make it a good value. We kayaked through the mangroves to the next bite to the East where Tricos bar and grill is. There's a bar and grill called Mangrove Paradise just inside the Mangroves was fun to paddle to.The hosts Nancy and Phil were great to talk with.

My bride and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. We loved the view, ocean breeze, snorkeling and kayaking.The host were wonderful, we now consider them friends. We will return again.

Being sailors we found the boat house was perfect for our 2week stay visiting with sailing friends who anchored right out front! The pool was always a hangout for bbq and card games, overlooking spectacular views across the bight. Exploring this part of the island with our rental car was extra exciting as the roads are very 3rd world! We drove down and backed out of a few steep and washed out places (fun for me but not my wife) Turquoise Bay was a beautiful day stop for lunch and beach time (no cruise ship day) Having kayaking available for snorkel trips was great for us water people
