At the end of a quiet private lane, The Roost has stunning views across neighbouring fields towards the North Cornish coast. Walk to the village pub and shop and explore the beauty of Bodmin Moor.. 1 step to entrance.

Cot and highchair available on request. Washing machine and tumble dryer available by arrangement. Sitting-out area. Private parking. EV charging point available. Barbecue available on request. Garage storage available for bikes/surf boards. No smoking.. Located at the end of a private lane on the edge of Cornwall’s highest village of St Breward, Sandy Barn Cottages comprises three beautifully converted holiday barns (refs B5718, B5719 and W44032) and the owner’s own home, forming a secluded courtyard of 200-year-old granite buildings. The dog-friendly cottages are all tastefully furnished with many character features including slate floors and exposed beams. The Roost is detached and has a stunning picture window overlooking neighbouring fields with far-reaching views out to the north coast, catching amazing sunsets.
Ideally situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor for exploring the landscape of tors and moorland. Enjoy walking, cycling, riding, fishing or simply relaxing. The nearest beach of Trebarwith Strand is 20 minutes’ away, but many favourites such as Whitehaven, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Trevone are within 30-40 minutes’. With the beaches of the North Cornwall coast within 12 miles, visitors can enjoy the best of coast and countryside, alternating their days between tranquil landscapes, coastal walks and seaside fun at the beaches.
Places of interest such as Wadebridge, Padstow, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel. The National Trust property at Lanhydrock, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach for a day out.
Sandy Barn Cottages are tucked away, surrounded by fields, but still in the heart of the village. Local amenities comprise of a village shop and pub serving food, both within easy walking distance, ¼ mile.

We had a great stay at The Roost in July. Warm and welcoming host. Very quiet location in a peaceful rural village. A very comfortable property, with thoughtful additions for bringing a dog to help them feel settled. Lovely aspect from the living area and cottage features aplenty. Well situated for exploring all across Cornwall. Would recommend and return.

What a delightful residence, accessed through a wonderful drive through the tranquil Bodmin Moor!The Roost is beautifully designed, spacious and airy; ideal for a peaceful getaway. Stunning outlook through the big glass doors at sunset.Access to a Type 2 electric vehicle charger crucial for us as well!

My wife and I can’t fault our stay at the Roost from the warm welcome to the comfort provided by Kate. This is a gem of cottage in a great location to explore Cornwall. Not forgetting, the online information package which is sent in advance of the stay, it proved very helpful. All in all one of the best cottage stays we have enjoyed.
