Aspatria is a small town in the north west of Cumbria, ideally situated for exploring the whole area, with the beach and mountains both within a short drive.
You may spend your week just exploring the stunning mountain and coastal scenery, or take a drive to Cockermouth only 15 minutes away by car, where you can meander through the streets perhaps visiting William Wordsworth’s birthplace. Cockermouth is also home to Jennings Brewery, where a tour explains the various processes involved in brewing traditional beer. The pretty market town of Keswick is also close by, and is one of the main centres of outdoor activities in the UK. Beach 6½ miles. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
