Please note: There is a fenced river in the grounds, 500 yards.. This holiday property is set in the grounds of Maddy House Farm, which dates back to the 15th century. It is surrounded by over 20 acres of its own fields, with breathtaking views across the moorland towards Castleton, which has co-op, tea rooms with part time post office and two pubs. The Heritage Coast of Yorkshire and Whitby are easily accessed, and you can take a leisurely journey through the Esk Valley. Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington can be found a little further afield. A must when visiting this area are the smugglers coves of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay. Visit stately homes such as Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard, which are all within easy driving distance. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
The Old Barn can be booked together with Maddy Cart House (UK2048) to accommodate up to 6 guests.

The property is in a lovely location with amazing views. The house it’s self is well kitted out but the main problem is that the carpets are very dirty especially the stairs and sitting area which makes the house feel generally tired and in need of care and not an enjoyable place to be. If I had seen the previous couple of reviews I would not have booked.
