Lovely retreat! Well furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Stunning views, enhanced by being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy them. Only downside for us was lack of anywhere to walk with the dog without getting in the car and travelling. We look forward to returning. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We stayed here during the recent storms. Unfortunately this meant most of the things we had planned to do didn’t go ahead. The reason we chose the property was it was to be a base for exploring the lakes, it was dog friendly and a good price. It was a few miles to nearest town of Cockermouth which has all the amenities you would need, dog friendly pubs supermarkets etc.. the beach was a short 15/20 drive and other walks near to Keswick, which is also a great town, were also around 20 minutes drive away. The location of the property is ideal if you want to go out and about as there aren’t any facilities at the site but we didn’t need this so it was ideal for us. There is a garden centre next to the site but it is small, it does have a cafe but we didn’t try this. The accommodation itself has a fully stocked kitchen with fridge and small freezer which was ample for what we needed. Plus a washing machine which was great. It’s has central heating and we needed this with the storm so the property was nice and cosy. Beds were very comfortable as well. The property is a little dated but that didn’t bother us at all. The owner contacted us to say we could check in early due to the storm and this was much appreciated as the weather did worsen later in the day. We did choose the property as it also had Wi-fi however we couldn’t use this as the connection was very poor and it just wouldn’t work. This may have been effected by the weather though but for us this was a bit disappointing due to being in more than we had expected to be. Overall really good location great price and we had a nice comfortable stay.

Spotlessly clean accommodation with everything you could need for your stay. Including beautiful views of Skiddaw. A comfortable retreat after a days walking, cycling. Very accommodating and friendly owners, can't wait to return for another stay!

If you don't mind being remote, this is ideal. On a main road but shielded by trees with a stunning outlook from the balcony. Only real downside is being a drive away from anywhere. Lovely garden centre next door with a great café, but otherwise, pub is 2 miles away and any shop is a drive to Cockermouth, approx. 5 miles. The location is quiet and private.
